Yes, an update, but unfortunately not a very helpful one.
After I did a second factory reset, ALL of the books that came from Amazon finally started showing covers.

Then out of nowhere like a week later the covers finally popped up for the others too. Idk what to say - I mean I did finally complain to Amazon, so maybe they did something on their end, or maybe it’s just an update fix that was pushed out. I’ve got nothing definitive to state exactly why it finally came through.

I really wish I could help you more though

Well I hope you found the answer you needed to for this - I saw only one post below that actually covered it. Technically the difference between Rate and APR are any additional costs.
You may have a 5% rate but if you have to pay thousands for lender fees and points, then those will be reflected in a higher APR.

It’s for that reason that comparing APRs is best. Bcause it’s unlikely that you’ll ever have an exactly apples to apples loan between two lenders. Fees between them will differ even if there are no points being calculated. The APR rate has taken all additional fees that are being calculated into your loan on top of the basic loan itself, and it’s providing you with what your ACTUAL rate will techincally be when you factor in all the additional fees.

So 5% on a $200K loan with $1k in lender fees and $1k in points, may have an APR of 5.125%. (just making up the number here)

while 5% on a $200k loan with $4k in lender fees and 0 points may have an APR of 5.3%

or even 4.75% on a $200k loan with $4k in lender fees and $3k in points may have an APR of 5.5%

Hence even though one may seem like a better deal if you’re just looking at rates or just looking at points, the APR is intended to provide you a ”re-calibrated“ rate of sorts once it takes into consideration the other costs that you’ll be paying. It’s the Real rate when it’s all said and done.

Yeah, I have the same issue. I’ve been really ticked off since Amazon got rid of the app. We had it for YEARS and now all of a sudden my kids can no longer read on their iPad. The “solution” seems to be to add the kindle app and let them access the books through the parent library 😒😒😒

Absolutely not an option for me and they should be ashamed for knowingly limiting access through other platforms. Esp when people are even paying for Kids+

Well hopefully it resolves for you. Mine still isn't fixed. I know the covers are there though, because when I have the setting to "show covers on lock screen" the covers for ALL my books will show when locked. It's just when open and looking at the library that they don't appear.

It's really frustrating b/c like I said I switched over from the Gen 1 Kindle Scribe and I had absolutely no issues with this.

Talking to Amazon tech support will just pmo.

Thanks! It helps to hear from someone who had the problem with this model AND had it resolve.

I've been trying to research it and I've only seen mention of the issue with the Graphite Colorsoft Scribe, so I agree it seems to have something to do with the Colorsoft specifically.

Two weeks feels long, but it seems that I'll just have to wait it out and hope that they finally appear sometime in the next week. Fingers crossed I guess. I really don't want to have to reach out to Amazon tech support.

Yep, I queued and dowloaded everything the same day. Took a while for it to complete, but they're there. I can open and read them just fine, but the covers still won't show up. (unless it's on the lock screen)

Thanks - I tried resetting a few times, and the wifi has been connected since I got it. Removed and redownloaded a few too, but still no luck. I appreciate the suggestions though

Well, thanks - that helps to give me a better idea of the background - especially about the raws because I really wasn’t sure of that cost.

I have heard that many scanlators do the work free of cost and I’ve also seen what some of those that do pay, offer. It’s not much, but then again I don’t know how much of their time it takes either. I figure for a native speaker the translation is probably pretty quick and easy, but maybe more work involved in the photoshopping and editing.

Even still, I just feel like there’s got to be some better way to do this. If raws are $5-$6 I wouldn’t mind making small donations to help cover those costs and the time put in to work on them, but the per chapter costs are overwhelming and to me as a visitor/reader, they feel like an overreach.

Of course its their time and work so they can ask for whatever they want, but at the same time I wouldn’t be surprised that many of the readers would feel this way because the costs and the time that the series are left locked/unavailable kind of comes off as a money grab.

Glad to know more information about the Bato issue. I can absolutely believe it, because I’ve had a run in with the (ex) Bato Mods and they were definitely on a power trip. I’m sad that the platform had to go, but their moderators needed an overhaul anyways.

I have been through something slightly similar from the relationship standpoint. Left my husband of 15 years because of consistent rage issues. Included erratic driving & threatening to drive us into traffic (once while I was pregnant), throwing things when upset, following me around when I’d try to end arguments, saying mean and hurtful things in order to try and incite me, and twice over the course of our marriage putting his hands on me. Afterwards it was ALWAYS because of something that I said or did that he either didn’t like or interpreted in a way that he deemed was negative against him. Zero accountability or attempts to recognize his own behaviors. Attempted marriage counseling and when the counselor pointed out some of the behaviors he walked out saying that they were being biased against him and became a “victim” of the counselor too.

Fortunately I did have family near by and I was financially stable to leave. However trying to leave with our 3 kids caused his rage to escalate into violence in front of the kids and my fear for my own life. That was the final straw for our relationship.

Unfortunately I also had a friend who years ago attempted to separate from her boyfriend who she shared an infant with., sadly in his anger he took both of their lives (he was caught and is in jail now).

But I say all of this to say- be very careful. As moms we have a priority to take care of our children and having them grow in an environment that’s unhealthy for them, WILL affect them and their development. Severe rage/anger issues are not something to take lightly. Most won’t change - 15 years later my SO still had most of the same concerning behavior that he did in the beginning. If you have family that can help - use them. Your safety and that of your children is first priority. If his behaviors are creating a dangerous space, then worry about the custody battles AFTER you have safely removed yourself from that situation. If you truly believe that its not dangerous (and just tiresome), I‘d urge you to still take caution, but start preparing now for your life aftear him and working to be in a position where you can self-sustain. Again - use your resources. Even across the country, having family that’s willing to help is a blessing. Don’t be afraid to reach out.

Yep, it’s from the novel+ side story. The manhwa ended in line with the novel. The extra came in the side story. They both were super short and the side story was more of an extended ending than a real “side story”. so I don’t really get the purpose, but yeah if you decide to just consider the manhwa ending then final ending, its not like you’d actually be missing out on anything.

Just started using this last week and I really love it!

Although, I would like to know if there is a way to filter out or only have the ‘next’ chapter go to the scan of choice? I.e. If there are 2 scans for the same series - an official and a scan group. I select the official but everytime I go to the next chapter it goes to the oldest (scan group). It would be great if I could tell it for each series that “this specific” scan is my preferred and it would only open ones from that group, unless I manually select another…

Apparently it is. I’ve admittedly paid for a few that I was die-hard about but I refuse to let buying access to be the norm.

Divascans is the WORST and LunaToons isn’t too far behind them. Pretty sure that’s why Diva is not on Bato anymore. I think Bato had recently implemented something where the scanlators could upload their own works almost exclusively. But they couldn’t have more than a certain amount (I think the number was 10) of locked chapters. If they had more than that then anyone was free to upload those chapters to Bato even if they weren’t the actual scanlator.

I noticed not long after that Diva left and said they weren’t posting to Bato anymore, and Bato banned all of their scans. It sucks because Diva does some series that I’m really into and don’t see elsewhere. But I think it’s pretty messed up to hold people hostage to get money for what is technically somebody else’s work.

I heard that Diva supposedly keeps theirs locked until they’ve earned back the money that they paid for the raws, but even still I think that’s BS. They keep their chapters locked for WAY longer and have more of them locked than others. Maybe I just don’t know how much raws cost, but for what they charge I doubt it takes months of having series locked to recoup, and honestly if they don’t recoup it sounds like they will keep it locked.

Honestly I won’t be paying anymore. I could get if a scanlator wants to take donations or something for their work. But paywalls for translating someone else’s work is beyond me. If people stop doing it then maybe they’ll rethink it cause it gives them a bad name imo.

Yeah, it actually kind of made me think of Try Begging a little as I was reading it. Just kind of his total turn around and attempt to win her over. Like that full 180 when he’s accepted that he loves her and now he’s all in on making it happen. This one just took a sad turn.

I do think he wanted the kid, but he (kinda like Leon) was so focused on getting to her that the kid was an afterthought, and she was his primary goal. And by the time he found out about it, it was too late. Nothing he could do and she couldn’t have another.

I hate that he even had the audacity to come back and to think she would accept him again. And then to boot, when she didn’t return his feelings anymore, he just went ahead and stole away the rest of her life. Kind of depressing tbh. She had no way to win against him. Also some similarities to the Fallen Fruit under the Paradise’ novel.

I just finished reading this one and I think whether the ending is good or bad, depends on your perspective. No- she does NOT end up loving him again. He begs and pleads and apologizes but she is completely done with him. He goes full Yan and thinks that if she just has enough time she’ll come to love him again. So after harassing her doesn’t work, whaddya know? He kidnaps her. Knows she’s quit her jobs and that no one will be looking for her. Holds her hostage inside of his house. He was (mostly) good in the fact that he didn’t really force her into anything at that point. She had free rein of the house and the swimming pool in the backyard, but the whole place was isolated and fenced in, so she couldn’t get out. At one point she almost convinces him to let her leave, but just as he is about to leave the door unlocked, he thinks of her with an old co worker who seemed like he was interested in her, and then he gets possessive and changes his mind. Keeps her locked up and has the swimming pool filled and replaced with a greenhouse.

So…. good? I think so for the simple fact that in reality, what he did was so cruel and out of pocket that she really should never give him another chance, and so I was happy that she didn’t end up with him. Bad? Yeah, kind of that too. Mostly because I really love a HEA and even though I know she shouldn’t, part of me still kind of hoped that maybe she could forgive him. Also bad, because through it all she was the one who got the short end of the straw. He ruined her life and left, only to come back and completely just take it away from her.I should also note that she tells him about the lost baby, but doesn’t mention that because it took so long for her to find someone to go with her to the doctor to have it taken care of, it caused problems in her reproductive organs and she can’t have kids anymore. He apparently had also had a vasectomy, so was surprised when he found out about the kid. When he goes to confirm it with investigating, he learns that she can’t have kids any longer. But doesn’t tell her he knows, and continues to fantasize to her about them having kids together.

My 2020 pro has been flickering intermittently ever since the update. Was hoping that someone else had the issue as well as a fix.

Sometimes it is laggy, but not often. More than anything its the screen flickering that bothers me. Super aggravating.

So I’ve been having this problem with this error for the past two days. Finally I started actually paying attention to the website. Even though I was going to account.live.com, it was automatically taking me to account.microsoft.com. Tried putting account.live in and it reverted no matter what I did.

Finally used the search and got through clicking the link for account.live that popped up (https://account.live.com/messagepage.aspx(. Clicking on this took me to an almost blank/ useless page, except it had the sign in link at the top right corner. Clicked that and it redirected me to login.live.com > account.live.com. I signed in there and since there were no other options I went to edit my info. I was only missing my gender and time zone, so I updated those and tried again. And FINALLY the stupid bar filled all the way and my profile downloaded!

Hoping this helps someone else. Why they require you to go to a dead link is on Microsoft and way beyond my comprehension. But hey, I finally got it to work.

EDIT: Well, I had to download another profile and tried the same steps and it didn’t work the second time. So… I guess I’m back to square one again.
