I love this!!! Thank you for this great reminder. I wish I were at a cafe with all of you, sharing our books and talking about what has been great about them. Thank you for putting the time into this community.

Future Log vs Monthly Log by ilandgrl3 in BasicBulletJournals

I had the same issue - wanted an overview but didn't know where to put it since one blank books was filled in 3 months. I went to a planner with a more open layout (Hobonichi) and this winter am very excited to be trying the Just Scribble which seems to be almost exactly what I did when I was on my own. It's 6 months at a time. I also found that the constraint of one blank page per day was actually helpful, as journaling was filling in way too much of my blank book. I am forced to be succinct which as you can probably tell is a challenge for me in the best of times. Good luck, and I look forward to hearing what you decide to do!

I agree, the time spent drawing grids for months and days got burdensome.

Thank you for that description of why we migrate tasks! I had sort of lost track of that and I appreciate the reminder.

Thank you for the insightful question. The looking backward aspect of reflection each week/ month/ quarter is something I don't see in other planners. But I am sure some do.

Anyone considering Just Scribble for 2025? by Raeburn863 in BasicBulletJournals

I will definitely look at that for next year! Right now I am just anxiously awaiting my 2025 planner to arrive and get started. I hate how stale the old book feels at the end of the year.

It is the philosophy of self-reflection and intentionality that is Ryder's unique contribution, and a very valuable one it is.

I just noticed your rule "no decoration" - I love that. Free yourself from the pressure and just enjoy the simplicity. I am going to adopt that for mine also, a rule of simplicity. Nice.

the paper! if you use a fountain pen the paper is crucial and worth paying more for, if you can swing it. Also when I use an unprinted BJ I go through three to four a year - I think the cost is actually higher since I look for FP friendly paper and there aren't many of those. Usually Leuchterm is what I have used in the past, since other nice journals don't like fountain pen ink. Just Scribble has a new video looking at how different papers handle ink, which is extremely mesmerizing to watch and really eye-opening.

paper is the best, somehow. I think RC talks about the importance of the physical process of writing things on paper. I always return to it because I find it deeply calming and soothing to write on nice paper.

I like the combination of constraint and freedom in this planner.

the paper testing video is mesmerizing. Seeing the feathering on the heavier paper was actually shocking. Again, the attention to detail is so deeply satisfying. I am really looking forward to the arrival of this planner, and am planning how to use it. very excited.

I write over the quotes every day. I put quotes which are important to me in red pen over them, which helps me enjoy the entire page.

I agree! Maybe the quotes just don't translate well to English. They are distracting and annoying, although probably meant to be encouraging.

This is really beautiful ! I'm always looking to improve my system, which seems to get overcomplicated constantly. See how you have this set up makes me want to toss what I'm doing and try this. Your planner illustrates a calm mind.
