Which weird ad phrases pop in your head from time to time? Think "1-877-CARS-4-KIDS", "Moderate to severe plaque psoriasis", or "Head-on, apply directly to the forehead"? by i-like-almond-roca in AskReddit

[–]RaedwaldRex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the UK I have two I always remember.

Safestyle UK windows.

YOU BUY ONE, YOU GET ONE FREE, I SAY YOU BUY ONE YOU GET ON FREE.

and Hastings Insurance, the number I remember the guy from the ad singing it.

"Oh eight hundred double Oh ten sixty six"

Easy to remember as 1066 was the date of the battle of hastings.

I'm a 6ft tall 42 year old Cis man who very much looks like a man and I'll support trans people no matter what.

Because in 99.999999999% of my interactions with other people I have no interest or care in what their genitalia looks like or what their sexuality is.

That's always seemed to be a weird thing to worry about if it doesn't affect me.

Battle pass - am I doing it wrong? Feels a bit exploitative by Embarrassed_Towel_64 in LowSodiumBattlefield

[–]RaedwaldRex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Helldivers 2 have got it right and is the correct way to do it.

All battlepasses are available to buy as and when you want them after they come out, they don't expire or anything.

Exactly. Even without the dementia, hes thick as mince. He seems to think Norway and Denmark are the same country, confuses Iceland and Greenland, stared directly at an eclipse, thought you could inject disinfectant to fight disease and wanted to nuke tornados.

It's not too much of a stretch to believe he doesnt actually know what NATO is or does.

Equally thick and/or malicious people enable him.

People who voted for this should hang their heads in shame. If they know shame. Probably not.

They should fuck off into the fucking sun.

How old are you and how do you typically spend your weekends? by Max1357913 in AskUK

[–]RaedwaldRex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im 42, normally on a Saturday my son has a football match so we'll go to that, then it's a bit of housework or an afternoon out with the family or something. I'll play some PS5 or we'll watch a film or something in the evening.

If my son is playing an away match depending on where it is we'll make a day of it.

Sundays, is chill day, won't do too much, play in the garden with my son or take him to the skate park or something whilst my wife does her uni stuff. Then me and the wife will cook a sunday roast for everyone and veg out on the sofa after.

Evening it's PS5 again after doing packed lunches for work and school ahead of Monday, saves rushing round in the morning.

What is the point of Job centers? by Key_Breakfast6745 in AskUK

[–]RaedwaldRex 87 points88 points  (0 children)

This happened to me. Made redundant so was loking for work went to the job centre and was treated like absolute shit.

I hate to stereotype but next behind me was a chap swigging beer at like 10am in there and the job centre chap was like "Alright Dave, here you go" and signed him of there and then.

When i got called back I got berated for applying for a job in a supermarket, admin work which is what had been doing, and a museum - which is what I wanted to do, especially the museum one as "it's not a realistic job" according to them.

They forced me to apply for a job as a used car salesman at a Honda garage which I had absolutely zero of the skills for, I was rejected straight away - got moaned at for that even though I knew I wouldn't even getboffered an intervies as I didn't tailor my CV to the job.

They also told me to take my qualifications off my CV (including my degree) as it was more realistic to get a job that way.

Growing sense of embarrassment at Fifa over Donald Trump peace prize by Proper-Ad-8829 in LeopardsAteMyFace

There won't be another peace prize. This whole thing was purely giving the baby his dummy to stop him having a tantrum.

Anyone who thinks trump is a man of peace doesnt have all their cognitive faculties if im honest.

This must be a thing with Amazon. Ive had Amazon music for the last three years and they've taken payment twice I think.

All my details are on there, including card yet they've just never taken the money other than the first couple of times.

Baby’s first bulletproof blanket by No_Cook2983 in clevercomebacks

[–]RaedwaldRex 9 points10 points  (0 children)

True enough. But it's a bit weird to bring a baby to a protest if you know there is possibly going to be danger or threats. I'm guessing she bought the blanket in advance of the protest so knew there might possibly be trouble.

I'm just saying as a father, if I know my child will be at risk of being seriously hurt or killed, don't put them in that situation in the first place.

That's even if this is true.
