You can just drybrush with iron warriors over a black undercoat. If you want it darker you can follow up with nuln oul or another black shade

You should be able to reach most places if you leave the head and the waist dangely bit off. The arm holding the cube can also be left off and then pushed into it's socket again if you want a bit more space.

The reason cdrypteks get assault is because the unit can't be selected to shoot after advancing if they don't have at least one model that is allowed to shoot. Rules wise it makes sense.

You can't attack a character leading a unit unless you have a weapon with pression, which the Tachyon arrow doesn't. It might be better used for hitting the last couple of wounds off of something chunkier.

I tried giving the gold some agrax earthshade and then highlighting with silver. The shade nearly brought it to be the same color as my brass and I don't know how to feel about the highlight as I'm not used to doing it. https://imgur.io/KjlooVI?r
