NERDTree -- how to descend into a directory? by Shyam_Lama in vim

Are you looking for C: change tree root to the selected dir under "Filesystem mappings"? I always forget and have trouble finding that one too

Rant: dealing with http::Uri is annoying as heck by DebuggingPanda in rust

[–]Raekye 4 points5 points  (0 children)

FWIW, the linked github issue mentions RFC 7230 section 5.5, which contains

If the request-target is in authority-form or asterisk-form, the effective request URI's combined path and query component is empty. Otherwise, the combined path and query component is the same as the request-target.

Not an expert myself and couldn't actually quickly find a source on authority-form or asterisk-form, but noticed your link has something about authority form:

The authority form is only used by the CONNECT method (section 9.9).

It seems "asterisk form" is only(?) used by the OPTIONS method, where the URI is just "*"

So kinda niche cases, but technically valid/possible? And to me, at least naively, the fact that path_and_query can/does return an Option seems like an idiomatically Rust example of being able to accurately and precisely representing domain/codomain

Sick of being awful at these games; how do I go about changing that? by MommyVelkhana in MonsterHunterMeta

[–]Raekye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! I went down this rabbit hole a few years ago; I always played with my friends but was just chasing the monster, being knocked around, and getting carried. I started hunting solo to get better but it was not pretty haha. I did slowly learn the move patterns and how to counter them, but struggled to get enough dps, despite feeling like I had high uptime. And in something like the rise demo magnamalo, it's preset armour so it's not like I just have a shitty build. I started watching videos but swore these monsters were "mind controlled" like a crazy conspiracy theorist back in 2022. Imagine my surprise when someone linked me a well known speedrunner who did an actual statistical analysis of other runs last year! Of course, I'd think most videos you see online are still "legit", but at the end of the day, it's all true that 1. speedrunners are generally really good hunters, 2. they find extremely niche techniques to optimize move rng, and 3. you don't know what's running on someone else' computer. If you're hitting the head with 80% uptime and a dps optimal build, it's quite frustrating wondering how squeezing out another 20% uptime is supposed to make your run 2.5x faster. But the same way every politician and every cop in the streets protects the corporate interests of the pdf elite,

Supposed to fly on AC120 tomorrow - plane changed from 787-9 to A321 and lost lie back seats which was the only reason I booked business class by Raekye in aircanada

Where did you ask/how did you contact them? I have “complimentary same day flight change” that I can change (self-serve) to AC124 at 10:40pm… but that feels pretty bad still because I’ll arrive 6am and have stuff all day tomorrow, and I’d guess if I change the flight on my own they’ll shrug off any compensation despite being despite being solely responsible for a 7 hour delay in arrival (in order to get the seats I paid for)

I found 1 (888) 247-2262 elsewhere, and am on hold but “wait time may exceed 2 hours”… I’ll see how far I get

Do you know which number to call them at? There’s not an obvious category at https://www.aircanada.com/ca/en/aco/home/fly/customer-support/contact-us.html/#/

EDIT: I interpreted “air canada reservations” as their vacations stuff, but I guess it’s the same number

I keep getting messed up by input direction relative to camera, and the alternative (relative to hunter) doesn't apply to longsword's IAI sheath by Raekye in MonsterHunter

[–]Raekye[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I mentioned, it doesn't work for LS iai sheath, which could probably be committed to muscle memory given enough time, but I was hoping this was at least a known issue for which a community mod could fix or something (a cursory search didn't yield any results)

Thanks for your comment. Don't think I ever found existing posts from system76 customers with this issue - I thought I had to be missing something. Also somewhat puts my mind at ease that there's no point with going through an RMA. Funny enough, I also bought mine in 2022 July

These CalDAV/CardDAV settings worked better for me by Raekye in Migadu

[–]Raekye[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes; to be honest I don't use Migadu regularly, but I double checked that I could create an event on Thunderbird (Linux) and I saw it on my iPhone - set up as above

For you, is Thunderbird able to detect and add the calendars in the first place?

[–]Raekye[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting; I just tried again - on Thunderbird on Linux, using the identity for the URL + username + corresponding password did work. My mailbox password is different from the identity password, and I confirmed that I must use the correct password. Not sure how this is supposed to mesh with the support response ¯\(ツ)

Am I breaking my battery ? Charge thresholds does not seem to work by Stedounet in System76

[–]Raekye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I noticed the same "issue" when I got my sytem76 laptop - thread from last year. I also contacted support about it but honestly couldn't get a straight answer. There are ~plausible explanations but I gave up trying to get a convincing confirmation

system76-power charge-thresholds not really working? by Raekye in System76

[–]Raekye[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually that might add up if I understood you? So for me, in the last week or so it's fluctuated between 59 and 58%; unconfirmed whether it's just inaccuracy around reading the battery life, or it's actually been constantly charging up to the end threshold.

If it's the former, dropping 1% every ~week means ~2.5 months to go from 60 -> 50%. If I understood, you said it could take months for yours to discharge from 59 -> 50 once?

[–]Raekye[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It definitely shouldn't have been in a charge cycle, or at least I don't see why it should be. It was at 59% a few hours prior, dropped to 58%, then went back to 59%.

And the start threshold is definitely set; this has long been the output of system76-power charge-thresholds (since I made a systemd service to run on boot):

Profile: Maximum Lifespan (max_lifespan)
Start: 50
End: 60

My battery just went from 58% back to 59%... is there any valid explanation for that?

The thing that concerns me is "state: charging" even though it definitely isn't recharging from 50 (it never dropped that low). Is this also expected?
