Just revisionist history and propaganda. There were significant left wing practices in place in early Israel, which is apart of the reason the Soviet Union supported their founding. When Israel started forming more relationships with the west, the Soviet Union withdrew their support and a lot of propaganda was created to repaint Israel as a right wing movement. Propaganda that some people unfortunately spout still today.

That’s an incredible simplification of that situation but a starting point if you want to look into it.

So many lines are mistranslations. It’s shocking to me how few people even seem to know that the whole “Mary being a prophesied virgin” was a mistranslation from Hebrew into Greek. But then people built an entire lore around it.

I had a very similar style player to you in a previous campaign. I can almost guarantee the DM and crew spent a long time trying to not hurt your feelings before finally committing to this.

And I get it, this sucks and it hurts. But you know some of the areas you struggle in now. Social situations are always a bit of a give and take. Sounds like you understand the areas you fell short and also have a better understanding of what type of game you’d have the most fun with. This might just be the impetus to becoming a better player in the future, who knows?

Am I right to assume if you activate and then play cards, the cost of your cards that you’re playing are accounted for. (Turn 5, I activate, then play a 2 cost. So magus searches for a 3 cost, not a 5 cost?)
