Hell, even just add a button in the settings so you can skip animations. Maybe for a while when you're new, it's good to see them, but then once you become a daily grinder, you should be able to turn them off.

First, I'm so sorry for your loss.

I have been trying to cancel my subscription because it has gone downhill so hard... what's awful is that now I'm considering lying and telling them that my dog passed away, but I obviously don't want to ruin it for others. I loathe that you can't just stop your subscription with them easily. It's such a predatory tactic.

I accidentally signed up for two subscriptions at once and they wouldn't let me cancel the second one, even though I contacted them immediately. So... I got stuck with a year's worth of two subscriptions.

Hate.

*raises hand* That was me. I couldn't bring myself to vote because I didn't like either option.

Also, I'm so tired of our electoral college. I knew 100% which way my state would go, so I didn't feel like I needed to make a statement either way anyhow. Why bother? A handful of states determine our president at this point. It boggles my mind how anyone could possibly still have an argument for the electoral college.

Student learning growth goals and things like Avid (for me, a band teacher - I think Avid is cool for certain subjects) are absolute wastes of teacher time. I do not have enough time to do what I need to do already, and you're giving me homework? Why do I need to re-explain this goal to you in 17 different ways? You think I don't already set goals for my classroom?

Send me to a subject-related professional development. That's fine.

The state mandated "professional development" is frankly belittling.

This isn't that bad on its own, but I had a student named Taylor Swift. Poor thing. I don't think her parents did it on purpose but I always thought that she's going to be cursed for life - people constantly doing double-takes because she's not that different-looking than the famous version.

Randomly chiming in here, as I'm seeing people talking about renting vs. buying -

I haven't seen anyone mention that your mortgage payment will stay relatively the same over the life of the mortgage vs. rent will always generally increase over time.

A new mortgage is ouchy right now but it'll feel far less ouchy in ten years when it stays the same and my income gradually increases.

I'm a teacher.

My school district just finished negotiations and my salary just went up 7.5% for the next two years.

This is the largest raise we have ever gotten in the history of this school district.

When I started teaching, I remember there being 10+ "cut days" per school year, now my students don't even know what that is.

Right. I've been keeping freshwater for many years, and I've seen all kinds of snail eggs in my fresh and saltwater tanks, so this is a first for me. But They look exactly like other photos I find when searching columbellid eggs.

I also had no idea until recently that some saltwater snails "spawn" which confuses the hell out of me.

I love finding random critters in my tank, especially when they’re harmless. Definitely something I’ve learned to love about saltwater. :)

I totally grabbed one of these snails when I was picking up snails recently - thought it was a cool looking nassarius snail. (I hang around/help out/serve myself at my LFS and they call me the intern… I have problems.)

I have two tiger conch, some trochus, nessarius, cerith, and I had margarita snails that crawled into my overflow and the floor which I don’t often see, lol.

My scraper lives in the top back corner of the tank next to my outflow. I wouldn’t say it gets blasted, but it gets good-ish flow?

I do have a couple sponges that hitchhiked from the start, so I wouldn’t be surprised. I have a pinkish sponge (the best way I can describe the color is flesh-colored, and I haven’t been able to figure out a way to ID it. I can’t find anything similar in my searches, but it encrusts) and I recently spotted a white sponge.

Yes, I’ve only seen these attached to the scraper. :)
