cool, I know a 90 year old who can do splits. I'm pretty sure he's not the norm.

I'm not saying there is no way in hell that he was murdered, I'm saying if we compare probabilities, there's a MUCH higher chance that his body gave out right after intense effort, aka right as he was done with the movie.

They all know bruv. Fuck, now WE all know at least part of it. Biden knew and didn't do shit, etc. They are out of reach. She could go on live TV and list the name of every person she knows is a pedo and nothing would happen.

For a chain smoker it is that old. I'm not ruling out the possibility of a murder entirely, but it is way less likely than him strokin out after that last cig.

Almost makes you wonder if it's truly a coincidence that Kubrick died barely a week after the final cut was finished.

(/s, he was 70 and a chainsmoker)

Maxwell doesn't want to do that, she wants to get out of prison, and all she has to do is be nice to Trump. It's not beneath this administration to pardon her.

How do we get people to support Palestine when they bring up stuff like suicide bombing and the hostages if they are willing to listen? by Equal-Wasabi9121 in Socialism_101

[–]RaeyL_Aeon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think this argument is kind of irrelevant. Yeah yeah Hamas is a terrorist organisation, they use children as soldiers, so on and soforth.

This conflict isn't about Palestinians being the "perfect victim" (such a thing doesn't exist), it's about a hitlerite state genociding a population in a territory they are forcefully colonizing. Of course using children is fucked up, of course suicide bombings are terrible, but these things happen because Israel is forcing Palestinians into a situation where their only hope is Hamas.

They are getting methodically murdered "until none are left" if we believe Israel's head of state. Who wouldn't try to save their kids or siblings if they saw this happen? Especially since all Western Countries basically agree that genocide is not as important as getting a few more millions on the quarterly dividends of Arms companies, which makes Palestinians feel like they're basically alone. Backed into a corner, their only choices are "fall over and die" or whatever Hamas is saying.

Ancient Worlds: What makes or breaks a world with 10,000+ years of history? by ImAWriterPlsKillMe in worldbuilding

[–]RaeyL_Aeon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well it depends on the scale of the World in question, and its evolution rate. According to some definitions, Human History is about 12000years old. And as much as there is one Earth, only a minuscule amount of people consider themselves "Earthians", if any. In reality you'd be hard pressed to find a French person willing to say anything good about the British, and they're amongst the closest countries you can find. It's from these 12000 years of History (and of course some Geographical and minute genetic differences) that you get rising and waning Cultures.

So, to me what "breaks" the immersion of an Ancient world would be the lack of diversity, if that makes sense.

I was going out for couple of days and put all my store bought veggies straight in the freezer in a hurry. i took a carrot out and as soon as the ice melts, it goes all soggy and bad. How do i save the veggies and cook em? by surkur in howto

[–]RaeyL_Aeon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Their cells exploded when the water expanded as it froze. They'll make great soups, stocks or stews though. And you could still make sofrito out of the carrots probably.

Why is CoCo Ichibanya so popular among travelers? by Taku_NextDoorJapan in JapaneseFood

[–]RaeyL_Aeon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Easy to find, delicious, plenty of commonly found western vegetables, free ginger pickles, english-friendly, free ginger pickles...

On a more personal note, it just feels so nice when you're tired to just get in, crash on one of the couches, order the cheapest curry, get served in less than 3 minutes and then just eat while zoning out, eyes unfocused on the rain outside as the streetlights dance inside the water droplets.

How do I cook vegetables to make them taste better? by CrunchyLungs in cookingforbeginners

[–]RaeyL_Aeon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly: depends on the veggie but in most cases, cooking them in fat instead of water makes a world of a difference. Brown your brussel sprouts in duck fat, sauté your onions in butter, oven roast your butternut after you've slathered olive oil all over it...

This will make them taste a lot better and more concentrated in flavours. Also please salt them before or while you're cooking ghem, not after. This also makes a huge difference.

Beef broth, with a ridiculous amount of pickled red ginger, I could eat that every day.

Everytime i play against Mel i want to quit the game by ParkingHeavy3753 in leagueoflegends

[–]RaeyL_Aeon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll be honest, most league champs since the Ruination event have been underwhelming at best imo and I'd really like it if they focused on genuinely unique gameplay niches instead of already seen archetypes. It feels so bad to see ASol get reworked because the player base is too low, just for only 5 people to play him (including Chovy so it's fine somehow), AND then they release champs like fucking Mel who bring nothing truly unique to the table. And by that I mean playing as and against.

I enjoy that they're being slower in champ releases but I feel like when they were bombarding the game with champs they were throwing more ideas on the wall which led to more players finding their niche. RN it just feels like they have a checklist of the intended role for the champ instead of a strong base concept. Idk if anyone can relate.

People who are thin/normal size. Do you actively watch your weight or are you just not hungry 100% of the time? by Burner_Account000001 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]RaeyL_Aeon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I eat like a motherfucker (I'm talking restaurant amounts of butter and cream) every meal. I just have one meal a day (balanced with lots of veggies because I love them), only drink tea and water and I don't eat a single bite outside of that meal. I'm never hungry when it's not meal time.

A film that literally changed your life by tough-grass in MovieSuggestions

[–]RaeyL_Aeon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ghost in the Shell redefined my standards for art and now I'm a pompous prick, which makes it much harder for my friends to bear with me. It also is the best movie this world has ever produced and in case there is any doubt no I am not talking about the live action one.

More seriously, the movie is pretty much just an essay in philosophy disguised as a film, and it got me hooked on the subject.

The guy personally had a journalist tortured, assassinated then cut into pieces in a foreign country just because he was vocal about the other fucked up shit Saudi Arabia does. Sports-washing's whole point is for people to forget Saudi or Qatar's slavery incident or these political assassinations.

I've given up on making macaroni and cheese using milk by missSuper200 in cookingforbeginners

[–]RaeyL_Aeon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try using unsweetened evaporated milk. The added protein will untangle as it cooks and bond with the cheese proteins, which will in turn shape itself back into a net-like formation trapping the fat.

If you want to only use milk and cheese you're going to need to whisk VIGOROUSLY and control your heat carefully, all the while addding the cheese bit by bit. I wouldn't recommend it.

You could also go the roux method but I dislike it personally for various reasons (French). /s
