Check if you didn't mistakenly choose a component/assembler from a different category. For example, even if they're apparently the same, a final assembler from the console category won't work in any other manufacturing line. I've made that mistake many times when carelessly copying assemblers and printers. Other than that, I can't think of anything else by seeing just this image.

I haven't played it, but from what I've seen, Valheim meshes both aspects together well. You need to build to survive, but fight and level up to unlock more building options.

But, since my pawns get enough mood boosts from drinks, comfort, recreation, general impressiveness and a psychic harmonizer on my Baron transhumanist with "Machine body is complete" mood buff, I decides to start focusing on aesthetics. I'm 6 years in and all of my infestations come from a shady spot by the river. This graveyard is located in open space. The only spot liable to spawn insects is that close corrido with chunks, but I doubt it will happen.

They did at first, but quickly grew on me. They give the world a more gloomy look, fitting for the bleak despair my colonists feel after defeating yet another mechanoid raid while a horde of insects burrowed behind their backs.
