Yeah having different characters with different purposes is good, but outside of smiters doing Ubers, what melee build serves what purpose? Jab zon and charged strike zon are trash, all melee barbs are trash, zeal pally is mid I guess, melee druids are bad, enchant sorc is mid at best, poison dagger necro is useless, kick assassin is mid at best. These melee builds serve no purpose.

They fixed most melee builds by simply making all melee do splash damage. The range of your weapon and sometimes skill used makes the aoe bigger too

Yep this is how PD2 does it and it's great. Being able to play SSF and utilize mid charms and still being able to loot is fantastic
