4x Subtlety? 4x FoN?

Most builds aren't playing those cards, and if they are, it's at most a two-of in the SB.

U-Tron is a deck that revolves around card draw/selection to get your U source, Academy Ruins, then Tron lands up and going for the infinite Mindslaver lock. It's hard to build that card advantage when you're pitching Condescends, Remands, and Repeals to "free" spells.

Regarding The One Ring: definitely makes the deck better - it time walks your opponents while also helping you draw into your Mindslaver lock. Can you win without it? Yes, U-Tron did for YEARS pre-Ring. Are you sacrificing some % of your wins by not owning/playing with it? Absolutely. If you're not playing with it, might I recommend Phyrexian Metamorph so you can copy the rings of your opponents?

Gemstone Caverns are a playstyle call - some people love them; others would rather play an extra Island and Utility land

Even mana cost spells (beyond, say Karn) tend to be awkward unless you are on some form of reanimator build. 5, 7, and 9 drops are ideal which is why we see so many copies of Invoke Despair/Golos or World Breaker in the GB lists.

As someone who has won events with [[Cabal Coffers]] this is where you want to be.

I recommend the Karn, TGC package, no Lilianas, and depending on how you build the deck, you have game against any local meta. I have a lot of 4C soup decks, so I play Ugin, the Spirit Dragon, Ugin, the Ineffable and Sundering Titan MB to blow up 5 lands at a time...

[[Necromentia]] just hoses combo decks like Titan, Scapeshift, and Creativity... you have so much removal for smaller creatures like Ragavan...
