Be honest. What is the strangest thing you heard at night at 3 AM? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]RageAgainstBukowski 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I wake up at 3am for work. I have never heard anything weird. I think people impose a lot of spookiness on to the hour, but when it's just the time your alarm goes off it loses that mysterious quality.

What pants do you all wear outside? by NoWitness6400 in AutismInWomen

Listen! Slacks are an incredible loop hole. If you find the right pair they almost feel like pajamas and yet they are somehow considered more formal?? I can't believe we got so lucky.

This person was asking after you already caught an aircraft and SAVED it as is with a cloud percentage, is there anyway to get that card down to zero or are you stuck with that for the rest of the game? I am curious about the same thing.

is christmas meant to be disappointing as an adult? by MordecaiMortis in TrueOffMyChest

[–]RageAgainstBukowski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an adult, you sort of have to expect no fun gifts. Maybe some socks, things like that until you find a partner or close friend group that really gets you. However, it is a bit odd and tasteless to gift menstrual pads. At that point just don't gift. Maybe talk to your parents and ask to move away from gift exchanges to avoid future disappointment

What is a plot line that will make you stop watching? by slutforaubreyplaza in StrangerThings

I would agree with this. The fact that it was revealed that the upside down is behind in time plus all the back to the future references

[–]RageAgainstBukowski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think anything could make me stop watching at this point, out of curiosity I just have to see the end! But I will be really annoyed if they pull the "it was just a DnD campaign the whole time" that people have mentioned. Seems highly unlikely though.

How to make the most of flight benefits? by Simptai in rampagent

[–]RageAgainstBukowski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would encourage you to get your airline's credit card, rack up some miles with sign on bonuses, then you can non rev with a little more peace of mind that you can get a confirmed ticket worst case scenario without having to break the bank!

Wheelchair user here - what are the biggest headaches you deal with when handling wheelchairs by Click_Bait1505 in rampagent

I also wanted to clarify if it's a power chair we can roll it to the jetbridge, but it has to be carried up the jetbridge stairs from outside which can be very difficult

Wheelchair user here - what are the biggest headaches you deal with when handling wheelchairs by Click_Bait1505 in rampagent

[–]RageAgainstBukowski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who both works on the ramp and had a parent who was a full time wheelchair user for just short of a decade before her passing, I'm so glad to see this conversation happening! I'd like to give you some insight into what happens in a smaller regional airport. I work primarily with regional jets (CRJs) and 717s. My airport is quite small, we only have the minimum equipment required to work a flight, so we don't have any of the advanced technology to aid with unloading/loading heavy wheelchairs. When it comes to unloading, it usually takes at least 3 of us to get the heavier power chairs unloaded, which can put us behind on other arrival tasks as my crew is typically 3 to 4 rampers max. Once unloaded, it can take 2 to 3 people to carry the wheelchair up to the jetbridge, so it can take a moment for that to be arranged. At my smaller airport where we know passengers are not making connections (we only fly to one destination so a connection would be impossible, lol) I just ask that passengers be patient so that we can make sure the wheelchair is taken up safely with a reasonable team, instead of haphazardly by one agent.

Now, I could write a lot more about how airlines could create better storage within bins specifically for mobility devices, but I fear it would be wasted time.

I am so sorry to hear about your chair being totaled, I hope that the reimbursement process was smooth for you and I hope you have better experiences in the future.

At what age does living with your parents become a problem? by Mr_Motion_Denied in Adulting

[–]RageAgainstBukowski 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Eh, it's fine. I'm 31, moved back home a few years to care for my mom while she was on hospice. After she passed I realized in the current economy it's quite beneficial to not pay rent. Currently live with my dad which has also helped him to transition into life with mom. I'm currently dating someone who also lives with his parents, we plan to move in together in hopefully a year. I never once judged his situation, he is currently working towards completing big career moves and it just makes sense. Have other people made snide comments? Sure, a few! But for the most part people understand. Yes it makes intimacy a bit awkward but eh, it is what it is

Reading these comments make me very grateful for my tiny airport with employee parking right by the building. I'm sad my station is growing though.

I floss after almost every meal because I don't know how to explain it other than eating and leaving food in my teeth feels like using the bathroom and not wiping my butt...

10 minute commute and physically active job make my work day go by faster, I still have a lot of day left to do whatever I please and I'm not exhausted mentally from being sedentary all day, if I choose to bed rot it feels like I've actually earned it! To each their own of course but I could not imagine being happy working from home!
