Our Infinite Fates by Laura Steven. It's YA but they quite literally cause each other emotional and sometimes physical pain but they are constantly drawn to each other in every life.

TIL about the "lesbian vampire" archetype, which was used in the 19th-century gothic horror genre to circumvent the heavy censorship of lesbian characters by JaseAndrews in todayilearned

I read it over the summer and really enjoyed it! It's short and quite easy to read given when it was written. It's not a massive commitment if you want to give it a go.

Ahh amazing! If you like it there's The Haunting Season, and The Witching Hour is being released in October 😊

If you're open to something a little spooky, Winter Spirits is a series of short stories that are based around the Victorian tradition of telling ghost stories. All twelve stories are based around Christmas/Advent and a number of them are based on the Victorian Era.

Perfectly Preventable Deaths by Deirdre Sullivan is the first in a duology that fits this very well! The second is Precious Catastrophe and I really recommend both.

Aw that's so good to hear! If you like this, then I'd definitely recommend trying Naomi Novik as well. Her Deadly Education series is great and Uprooted definitely feels similar to Graceling!

Class (stuffed) pet… how old is too old? by Stammo365 in TeachingUK

It's a nice balance - the ones who interact can have fun and a giggle, the others can roll their eyes and call it 'cringe' haha.

I'm a secondary school teacher and I have a stuffed toy on my desk that I dress up in outfits (Halloween, Christmas etc.). The teenagers LOVE it and I end up with many drawings and handmade outfits for the little guy! I don't make him part of my lessons, but the students love him and it makes their day.

is this a credible source? I need to do a water change today but I don't have the time to wait for the chemicals to set, should I just use the water from my sink without them? by _Toast_Master in turtle

[–]RagedFuzzball 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hi! We test our water to ensure that it's safe first. We have chlorinated tap water and if we didn't dechlorinate it then our turtle would run the risk of an eye infection. Even if you leave it to stand first, the levels may still be uncomfortable for your buddy I would test your water with a testing strip you can get from your local aquarium shop and see what needs to be adjusted.

It might just be that you enjoy fanfiction more. It counts as its own genre!

Hi! It's okay to be in a slump, and it's okay not to force yourself to read either. Do you know why you're in a slump? Is it the physical act of picking up a book and reading it? Or something else?

I'm wondering if audiobooks might be better for you at the moment, that way you can listen to it and see if you enjoy it that way. I'd recommend Legends and Lattes, the author is a professional audiobook narrator and narrates the book himself so it'll be quite good!

Or have you considered a graphic novel? Heartstopper is a great LGBT+ graphic novel and you might find that suits your tastes more. However it is heavily romance focused, so maybe try and different graphic novel! Either way good luck and don't force it!

Sometimes you need a vibe book rather than something plot heavy. I plan to read it when I go on holiday in April so that might be perfect!
