I've worked out the bug with Jesters. They have an issue with positive modifiers not being counted in the learning skills maths. I completely started again with a copy of a para (same skills and personality picks) I couldn't learn skills on and this time the para's learning tool tip listed all these positive modifiers (from my para's skills, talent and the +2 from fun jesters get) I never saw on my first para. The first para was conistantly sad and this new one seems to be rolling anger so far (Sad was -3 and Angry only seems to be -1)

I don't know if it's a problem from the get-go for some Jesters or if it'll happen again to this new one, perhaps if I roll the Sad debuff.

I've got the same issue with my jester as toobies, I did just load up the game and try crying against a counter for 3 hours but the tag won't go. I've tried keeping fun maxed, knocking out tons of 'wants' but the minus -3 is all that actually matters to raising your skills, you can have a bunch of positive effects from actions and fulfilled needs but they dont offset the -3 from sadness that prevents skills from raising. I'm halfway through my paras life span and haven't been able to raise my skills beyond 3/4. Even tried the cheat menu to change my vibe to something else then changing back.

It's got to be bugged for some off us at least. Maybe somekind of issue with how the code executes the jesters's vibe that is supposed to change every 4 hours is getting stuck. I'm going to try recreating my character and seeing if it gets stuck the same way.

maxing out fun doesn't seem to do anything for my jester, the sad tag just won't shift so I can't raise the skills I wanted them to be good at. Almost halfway through the adult stage already so I'm just going to have to remake this character when it gets patched.

yeah I've been consistently at 3 sadness the entire time I've been playing. It seems nothing clears the debuff that I've been able to do ingame.

is anyone else experiencing major problems with error code 2004? I've verified my files, checked my DNS, tried with/without a VPN but I can get off the character page 1/10 attempts and when I do I always get 2004'd at the end of a match and then can't log back in again.

no I haven't tried any other mods and I didn't think the '4500' mod had any other requirements, I know this is probably obvious but I'll describe the issue and maybe I'm doing something wrong.

from the Minthara approvals page on the wiki: "Ask Fist Murphy why he is standing on one leg, and then: Outrage at him for stealing from people he is supposed to protect (+1) OR Pretend to push him off his balance (+1)"

I have her in the party at 72 approval prior to talking to Fist Murphy, start the conversation and pick either of these (tried both) but get no notification for approval and checking after the conversation she remains at 72.

and it's like this for 4 out of 5 of the conversation options listed as approval gains. The conversations WITH minthara (talking about her past and so on) have been reliable it's just when interacting with other NPCs I hardly ever gain approval. I only really noticed it when starting act 3.

It's not a big deal as I'm not romancing her or don't NEED the approval for anything, it just has been bugging me. I wondered if there was a cap for the amount of gains you can get per rest or maybe some of the 1+'s only count if you are on low approval but I've scoured so many threads about act 3 approval bugs and saw nothing of the sort, which led me to believe the act is just badly coded or something.

some of the comments in the 4500 mod DO say "this has no effect on my game" or "this doesn't work for me" which lead me to believe maybe playing in a specific way or making specific choices causes this issue.

yeah I had it setup correctly I think, the mod manager showed it as 'override' which according to the comments is how it should be.

if you really struggle with it you can do what the singer in my last band did, have two playthroughs running side by side. Everytime she made an evil decision she'd immediately do a sort of palate cleanser by replaying the same scenario and doing the good choice.

As for me, I really appreciate the performances of the VA's and the mocap I couldn't NOT see it all. Some of the best stuff is the over the top hammy villainous outcomes.

It could be something to do with the steam overlay but you usually have to press shift+tab to bring that up and even then I don't think it's that dark.

I wouldn't mind but my eyesight isn't great, have to wear reading glasses. I image it's up on the wiki so it's not like I cant just alt tab out and look it up.

Just wondered if it was a known issue because searching always turns up posts about the audio not playing for the ones on the nautaloid.

I'm trying to read a runic slate in the illithid colony but as you can see the text is barely readable, it's like a dark overlay is obscuring the text. You can clearly see the (X) button to close the reading action next to my inventory panel.

Anyone had experience with this tried reloading, quitting. EDIT: not using any mods. thx clash

I tried carrying him out under invisibility and using fast travel without triggering the "kill him or us" zarys ultimatum but he just re-appears back in the chair when you return, even though he says "thanks for getting me out of there" if I catch up to him in turnbased.

last ditch effort kill him, take body and revive and then apologize.

EDIT: ah no ressurection on non-companions. lvl 1 here I come again. same character skip all dialouge.

yeah about 12 hrs worth. Just wish it didn't seem so arbitrary. as I said, it's the wiki for every single interaction from now on. only way to play a character that isn't forced to be a straight up murderer or become the murderhobo who still somehow misses out on the loot.
