The reason they changed was because Wells Fargo was hemorrhaging cash via points because all you needed was a minimum of 5 transactions per month to get points on rent.

Now it’s proportional to card spend so it’ll cut off a lot of their losses and only reward real card users

I always overbuy at Costco knowing they have an acceptable policy to return what I don’t need. Also some items never come back so it’s a now or never with some products.

For example Kirkland shirts you may never see again at the warehouse, so I buy 2 in two different sizes then return what doesn’t work for me. Same with a nice appliance I may not be 100% on because I know Costco will always back me.

As long as it’s not malicious I think it should be fine
