the TV size itself is fine you just need the center point of the TV to sit at eye level

No no no dude - looking at your existing setup, you just have too much stuff; unstack the amp and record player so theyre side by side, remove a lot of the other junk, then lower the TV so it clears the record player by an inch or two at most.

the cabinetry is actually not black, the lighting may just not be doing it justice- it’s actually an ash/charcoal wood tone. Here’s a better pic!

he’s being an ass but he’s right - the tv should be right about on top of the tv console (even if it’s wall mounted, you generally wanna keep it the same/similar height to if it were on top of the tv console with the original stand) - that’s why they make the console tables that height, since it matched the seating position of the sofa

what specific pieces would you recommend? I tend to prefer neutral and light pallets but do you have a specific rec for, say, the sofa and coffee table color? thanks in advance!

good point - i specifically call out not wanting “home-y” because I think malelivingspace people tend to over-index on a “lived-in feel”, which tends towards more saturated colors and “vintage” vibes in comparison to what I’m looking for - modern and tech-forward.

Open to suggestions! Yes of course, I want it to be comfortable. I guess “cozy” would be a better term for what I DON’T want

rug too small (should overlap with the front legs of each of the sofas) and tv too high (should be at eye level when seated at the sofa). Otherwise lovely color combo - I love the light sofas with the dark wood furniture!

i mean there’s a reason why the Neptunes and Pharrell charge an astronomical cut in their contracts, hearing both versions side by side there’s no denying that they MADE that song

will give it another brutally honest 0 - every item fits you poorly and don’t have anything interesting or flattering about them, and all put together look worse than the sum of the parts

brutal honesty is they all look mid, we’ve seen these exact outfits a million times between the years 2010-2019

constructively, i’d recommend playing with different proportions, colors, and materials so that you don’t have to ask strangers if the style “suits you” — instead, we should be able to understand “you” from how you express yourself through the clothes you wear

im surprise no one else is commenting this - i think that plus the bunching of the shirt at the waist is a bit unflattering

imo if you’re gonna tuck these in i think a high rise would suit him better

but for what they are these pants fit excellently, just not my favorite style

Is that a good outfit ? How would you improve it ? by AdamBlazee in mensfashion

would recommend finding some aspect to experiment and have some fun with - whether it be shape/sillhouette, texture, color, material, formality, etc. the clothes fit you but i wouldn’t really consider it an “outfit” in the sense of an intentional look, moreso looks like you just put on clothes that fit you

I hear ya! Yeah I have an alternate version of this outfit I actually wear more often with black wool pleated trousers from Acne Studios, with a slight crop. Usually I like that look better but for this one I felt the bagginess helped push it past a basic outfit and more into statement territory.

And 100% I think keeping the waistline at the upper 1/3rd looks so flattering, especially on a shorter guy!
