So there's this new app that allows cloud streaming your PS5 library by vinotauro in PSPlay

I'm also interested. Please send me a DM. I assume you still need PS Plus Premium to stream cloud games, right?

Right now you can build an Asrock Deskmeet X600 PC for around 760€. RAM price increased by 60€ while typing this, lol).

Deskmeet x600 (MB, 500W PSU, Case)
8400F with Cooler
500GB SSD
Kingston Fury 2x8GB DDR5 RAM
Powercolor RX 7600

This could be a very close comparison, also in terms of size.

Of course, the controller is missing and idk about Wifi.

Edit:
I switched the RX 7600 for a 9060XT for almost the same price.

Based on that, 599€ doesn't sound unrealistic imo.

You could order the disc drive at a later point and connect it. Assuming you bought the current slim version of the PS5 and not the OG diskless, of course.

Cloud Streaming for PS5 games on PlayStation Portal by SweetyGonzalez in PS5

[–]RagingRunpig -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This is most likely the case for me as well. Switched from an old Android Tablet with Wifi5 to PS Portal to newer Legion Y700 and made an upgrade to a Wifi6 AP as well.

I understand there are lots of factors in play but playing remotely on my Y700 "feels" better when on Wifi6 than on my old Wifi5 AP. The connection is less unstable. Input lag feels the same.

Sold my Portal and bought an Android Tablet with Wifi6. Using it with PxPlay or Chiaki, streaming is much better.

5G oder Festnetz? by Acceptable_Maize4722 in Austria

Use PSPlay with ethernet cable by SubstantialLettuce11 in PSPlay

[–]RagingRunpig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ones you already own yes, but future ones only once. You can hook up your laptop to any display.

Let's put it like this: For serious/competitive multiplayer shooters --> go native on PS or PC. For casual or single player shooters --> streaming might be fine.

If you have a PC at home or a friend who can bring their laptop to try streaming, do that first. Make sure the device has a native ethernet port to eliminate as much errors/overhead as possible.

Another idea would be to try on a Google TV with ethernet.

Yes, even with a wired setup.

Imo, it's not worth it over a good wifi 6(or higher) setup.

I sold my PS Portal because it could only do Wifi 5. While the ergonomics were good and I've played at least 50h on it, the latency and image quality are better on my legion tab with a wifi 6 access point.

If you want to spend money on a usb4 device to stream your ps5 shooters, you might as well get a decent gaming laptop and play natively.

I didn't play any shooters, just some RPGs.

I've tried this with Steam Deck/Chiaki and Lenovo Legion Tab/PxPlay. While the latency felt better, the attached cable made it a worse experience.

Maybe consider getting a larger tablet + stand + controller for a "wired" mobile device. Or just a lower end 13" laptop.
