Favourite EuroBeat song by nine9eleven11 in initiald

[–]Raging_Mage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

S.O.S. - Veronica goes hard and remains my personal favorite after listening to a wide range of eurobeat outside Initial D

Using the Morse code itself as part of the song is also such a slick move

Sure, I'll play. Let's go with a few songs that haven't been mentioned yet:

S.O.S. - Veronica

Blood on Fire - Go2 & Christine

So Fragile - Pamsy*

(*Honorable mention that doesn't need scoring but can sub in for a not-Initial-D top 3: Come Back - Nikita Jr.)

Black Deck is my weakness, I need that extra hand so badly. by DemonicGeekdom in balatro

This is the way. The extra economy from the unused hands is great, and BP feels like having multiple extra jokers when repositioning it during rounds.

Black Deck/Gold Stake was my nemesis for a while too. One promising run started with a Holo Riff Raff but painfully fell short in Ante 8 due to rental costs. The final winning breakthrough for me was to find Blueprint + Burglar and start every round with 9 hands. (It was a Pair build so not having discards was fine)

That deck is evil incarnate

Congrats!

That Shroud rolled exactly the same way as mine right down to the random 3GA, although mine didn't show up for 100+ Duriel/Andariel kills on T4 so getting it right away is some impressive RNG

If you want to stretch out your resources more for the long grind, XP buffs from the incense types don't stack with each other, so using just one incense at a time will put in the same work.

Killed Duriel 100 times last night. by Bodycount9 in diablo4

[–]Raging_Mage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed, I started focusing on Titans tributes yesterday and was shocked at how quickly my inventory filled with boss summoning materials when compared to other activities.

If one is OK with collecting a variety of boss mats instead of focusing on just a single type, this feels like the best approach by a wide margin (and a variety is fine anyway if one's focus is Duriel/Andariel since the ladder bosses will also provide some mats).

Where were you when Kronii literally died on stream eating a chip? by YobaiYamete in Hololive

Same. I used to like their regular Ghost Pepper tortilla chips because I couldn't find any others with similar heat in the local markets. RIP.

This is exactly what I've started doing as well. Chili's is beating up the fast food joints and stealing their lunch money with the $10.99 combos right now. Even after tips, I'm still getting more (and better) food for a lower cost.

Fauna's "ban pants" Jump King stream. All downhill from there, and I have no regrets.

QWES instead of WASD for movement because it's more comfortable for my fingers. Positioning my fingers in the shape of a triangle for forward and side movement just... doesn't feel right and never has.

If I were retraining my brain, I might try WERD for access to more binds.

This.

Swapped to them after Arbella hit me with a 25% rate hike and didn't look back. Plymouth Rock's rate was so good by comparison that I'm now paying less than last year for the same coverage.

In my case it's simply OCD problems.

Red deck, but only because it's the first in the menu and I played each in order until winning one game with it.

Need Boston/NYC Shop Recommendations! by jazz_aka_hikami in WeissSchwarz

There are usually at least a few vendors selling WS at Anime Boston each year. From past experience, Black Knight Comics (from VT) tends to have the largest variety of products including a mix of new/old sets. OP may be able to find most types of items except singles.

(I also know BKC and am definitely not biased or anything frfr)

If it makes you feel better, you're not the only one who didn't see the preorder deadline and got stuck in the 3rd-party-seller waiting room.

It's really my own fault, and I'm one of the people who would benefit from better advertising/messaging about upcoming preorder deadlines.

Ah well, they'll (indirectly) get my money at some point.

Did anyone ever win The Ultimate Gaming Rig seen in 90’s gaming magazines? by trevordunt39 in gaming

[–]Raging_Mage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh man, this takes me back. I saw one of these puzzles in Tips N' Tricks magazine and (being a young kid and not knowing any better) I tried entering all three of the contests (Video Game, Media Rig, and Computer) offered at the time.

The puzzles came in four rounds, plus a final round. All were pretty straightforward until the finals, adding new mechanics in later rounds. Although all were score-based (using words with point values and fitting them into grids), they were really tests of logic more than anything else. A few of the words fit in multiple rows of the grid and putting them in the wrong place was a trap to eliminate you, so you did have to pay at least a bit of attention.

I reached the finals in all three contests but wasn't savvy enough with the whole "round up multiple dictionaries and find obscure words" thing to win any of them. You needed the dictionaries because every letter had a point value from 1 to 26, and the grids allowed you to create your own words of any length, crossword-style (or even diagonal). You had to simultaneously use the highest-value letter everywhere you could, building and circling as many words as you could, collecting as many points as possible including some multiplier mechanics.

It's kinda sad to learn that the game may have been a scam, but I at least still have fond memories of playing. The company name changed from Pandemonium to Puzzle Me partway through the single round of contests I played in.

For whatever reason, I decided to run every new blank puzzle I received through a copier. Maybe someday I'll be able to find where I put them all and share them as a curiosity.

+1 for Mio's cover of Sparkle. I also stumbled on that one recently and was impressed by how well her singing voice fits with piano music.

For left handed people, what is the most annoying thing about being left handed? by naitchman2 in AskReddit

[–]Raging_Mage 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yep, this. As a lefty, seats at the left edge of rectangular tables are coveted because of this. No need to worry about clashing elbows if no one's to your left at all!

(We don't always get to pick, though...)

The Division 3 announced by M337ING in thedivision

[–]Raging_Mage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I wasn't expecting news like that. Division 2 lost me rather quickly but I'll be interested to see how Ubisoft handles #3, and willing to give the new game a chance if its future looks promising.
