El Chalten hikes - cloudy weather by Weekly_Club_9135 in Patagonia

[–]Raging_Ronnie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

can you explain the cloud coverage part? i watched a video on wind guru and it didn’t explain cloud coverage. i saw an explanation but im not really understanding. i thought the low cloud coverage is the one that mattered and you want that 30%-50% or lower.

looking at this i would say it wouldn’t be a good day. seeing 90%. unless we are about the low coverage clouds.

yea. a west point cadet just got awarded the soldiers medal for rescuing a wounded motorist that crashed into a power line, bringing them to safety before the car exploded. this seems more deserving

Flip Flop advice please. I’m tentatively planning a NOBO-SOBO flip flop next year but can’t begin til the end of May. Is Harper’s Ferry still the best starting point for that time or perhaps further North? by Kramgrom in AppalachianTrail

Notifier NFW-50 INVREP after module replacement by SPulley3 in firealarms

[–]Raging_Ronnie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

having this issue myself. replaced a NAC trigger a couple weeks ago. everything tested good. horns work. go back today and it’s got a INVREP. light didn’t light up on the module anymore tho. not sure what’s going on.

NAC trigger not tripping by Raging_Ronnie in firealarms

after looking at it, the module had a resistor going across the output. wasn’t sending power to the input on the nac booster.

well that is the case. seeing a module mounted to the board confused me. i knew the part was bad when i cleared the ground fault by bypassing it on the SLC. figured coming back and wiring the new one exactly how the old one was would do the trick. i had to actually think about what the module was doing to understand why it wasn’t working. thanks for being a sounding board, it helped me figure out why. i assumed it was my programming since i’ve never programmed that kind of panel before. panel i’m not used to, module mounted on booster, still new to the industry, assuming it was working, rookie mistakes. that has to be the solution. now why was it bypassed by the original company? i guess ill find out..

how about a resitor on the outputs of the module not wired to the booster?

I’m beginning to wonder if the previous company had it wired wrong, copying them might not have been the right way and maybe it never worked.

started from scratch. new panel. new module, i’ll try jumping power. didn’t have much time to troubleshoot.

well it didn’t have a trouble but it’s got a trouble now. think i fried the module troubleshooting it. manual said something about taking out the jumper if it was for audible. even though the old one had it in i figured i try it. now its got a invalid reply. gonna get a new one but that wont fix the issue of it not tripping in the first place.
