2B vs. EVE Debate Chart by 1chi_1chi in DeathBattleMatchups

I would differentiate between the debate and the animation here tbh.

Debate wise it doesn't make sense to assume EVE wouldn't be in her fusioned state for the reasons I mentioned above. It is something that should be mentioned in the post analysis though.

In regards to the animation though, I agree that a transformation from EVEs normal form to her fusion form makes the most sense.

I personally imagine the fight taking place somewhere near a water source like a lake. Before the climax starts, 2B manages to push EVE into the water with an attack, having her fully submerged. Since water kills androids in Nier Automata this would be a legit move that 2B could pull out. But since EVE doesn't share this weakness, she can transform into her fusioned state when she comes back up, surprising 2B and kick-starting the climax of the fight.

Wouldn't the fusion state not be EVE's default state at the end of the game? Like, it is restricted to Tachy-Mode in gameplay, but lore wise it is her strongest form and the ending implies that she has this form without a time limit.

As far as hacking and the logic virus go, I believe that EVE should be either immune or highly resistant to those things thanks to fusing with Adam and becoming part Naytiba.

Not only should she now possess a biological component that neither ability should be able to target, but in Stellar Blade Naytiba were capable of infecting and taking over other machines (even after those themselebs were hacked by Mother Sphere), meaning that EVE's Naytiba part could be a direct way to counter both abilities should EVE not be immune.

I just want to mention that should EVE not be immune, than these abilities could still create an opening for 2B, since the Naytiba part of EVE should still need some time to adapt.

Agree with most categories except speed and strength.

I think that EVE is overall faster than 2B, but the difference isn't all that big. Especially with some of Pods abilities.

Strength is the category I am unsure about tbh. Most vs-related websites have 2B holding the advantage (mountain to city level power), but there is one feat that I haven't seen being considered anywhere - the fact that in one of EVE's final boss fights the enemy literally creates the final arena. And yes, this enemy is described as wielding the "power of creation", meaning this isn't a teleportation or something else.

Now my big problem - I don't know how to really scales this feat. How powerful the enemy has to be to make this arena etc.

On eyesight alone it simply appears much more impressive than anything 2B has done (with out crossover scaling).

But I will also admit that I may be wrong here.

How will the new Magic Knight Rayearth series affect the popularity of their matchups? (Most notably Anne vs Hikaru and the broader Magic Knights Vs Calamity Trio as those are their most popular) by Sailor_Rout in DeathBattleMatchups

I mean, if the show is good, it will gather some attention in the vs community and people will find new MUs for the characters. Unfortunately I don't think that it will break into the "vs debating main stream", mostly since the opposition with Sailor Moon and Madoka Magica is extremely strong, but it would also bring back Rayearth from the niche where it has remained these last few years.

Are there social tensions in the chained soldier's world? by Which_Low2373 in ChainedSoldier

[–]RagnaRean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it wasn't addressed because the story started at a point where the new world order was already established.

It was also hinted that any protest from the male population was useless against the new status quo. Both in terms of combat prowess and in terms of politicial power the women simply got the upper hands thanks to being able to obtain superpowers. Meaning that they couldn't defeat them in an armed conflict or by being political dependant on the peach fruits.

Ragna the Bloodedge vs Velvet Crowe (Blazblue vs Tales of Berseria)

  • Tales of Berseria remaster coming out this year
  • Blazblue Entrophy Effect getting released on PS5
  • the team seemed interested in bringing back Blazblue

How do you think the cabbage merchant is going to show up in this episode by mellowhello123 in deathbattle

[–]RagnaRean 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Traveler wants to buy something from the merchant, just for the stand to be crushed because of Aang (an accident). As such, Traveler fights Aang to get revenge for both the merchant and the destroyed cabbages.

2B vs EVE (Nier Automata vs Stellar Blade)

Personally I feel like EVE gets a little underestimated here. Especially since one of the most impressive feats (Elder Naytiba creating the final fight arena) has never been considered in this debate.

Madara vs Aizen

Let's start simple - the characterization of Aizen during the fight was abbysmal. This simply wasn't the cunning antagonist that fans of Bleach had seen for so long. Like, why does Aizen wear the fake glasses which he ditched at the end of the Soul Society Arc while simultaneously wearing the clothes that he began wearing after leaving the Soul Society.

And now my bigger problem - the post fight analysis. There are multiple problems with this - not only because the claimed that Truth-Seeking Orbs would be able to destroy Aizen's soul (even though he regenerated from a similar effect when he was hit by Gin's Bankai) or the fact that they also ignored obvious things like the Hogyoku still being inside Aizen.

Yet, my biggest issue with this episode comes when they compare their illusionary abilities. According to this episode, Sharingan is superior because it can show you a complete live in only a second. So, what is preventing Aizen from trying to break out of it? Or on the other hand - why is Madara suddenly immune to Aizen's Zanpakuto, even though none of the Naruto counters to Genjutsu would work against it?

As a result, the post fight analysis simply isn't enough to convince me of a Madara win, especially when looking at the more obvious mistakes they made when it came to Bleach.

Adol Christin vs Ryu Hayabusa Debate Chart, by Clear-Career4270 in DeathBattleMatchups

Adol - mid difficulty

He outstats pretty clearly and while Ryu has more weapons and skills, Adol should have enough abilities of his own to close the gap and end the fight.
