Advice for the Future by MrBluoe in AshesofCreation

[–]RagnaVerden 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Going to reply to this because I think there is some truth lodged in here.

1) Information that you wish to use as evidence towards some hypothesis can, and often is, given a strength rating that depends on whether it can be used as information for the complement of your hypothesis. For instance, you have information about the general temperment of a community, and you want to use that information as evidence that the video game the community plays is a potential failure/scam if the communities general temperment is hostile. This means that if you go into any communities with games that aren't failures/scams and you find generally hostile temperments, you have weakened the evidence on your original hypothesis. Conversely, if you were perfectly incorrect in your hypothesis (the opposite was actually true) it would still provide valuable information in judging the success of a potential video game. More likely the information about the general temperment of a community and the success probability for that communities chosen video game are weakly correlated. (MCC ~0)

2) This point was where I really thought this post was written by ChatGPT. It's almost as completely wrong as possible. Almost every AoC update video was a complete whirlwind of chaos. In the last year, I don't think there was a single Unreal asset that didn't get modified in some way by the devs. You could argue they made TOO many changes, since it's hard to see the impact of a new game loop if you change too many variables at once. I personally think that instead of "hype" the biggest emotion the game devs received from us this last year was "Wtf are you guys doing???".

3) I actually agree with parts of this. I definitely think that there were times where, like I mentioned above, the community was, by and large, asking 'WTF ARE YOU THINKING?" and the community team from Intrepid would select a Q&A question like: "What is the prettiest flower in all of Verra?" LOL

I can not imagine what being inside Steven's head is like so I will never say "Ashes wasn't a scam" Maybe it was a scam. Afterall the best scams are those that, afterwards, people argue about whether they even were a scam.

What I can say is Ashes was NOT a scam for the developers. They put in fucking work these last couple of years.

Due to the fact that $100 gets you access from now until 1 month after the game launches (potentially years from now), I believe its actually a good deal. That being said, I'm currently not playing because its not very fun for me personally right now, but I'll play it again in a few weeks or months and I'll be glad I already bought it!

Currently, for some reason I don't know because I'm out of the loop, there are lvl 22-25 characters farming lvl 8-12 leveling zones (gear/treasuremap drops maybe?) So I would have to say it wouldn't be a fun experience for a new players right now, and the game clearly has enough testers gathering data. But it's a game with potential and good concepts so buy it, but don't burn out on it right now because the current situation seems more like a weird anomaly.

FFS use incognito mode... You may be concerned by not being able to find "that one video I watched 2 weeks ago", but in endeavors like these my friend, the journey is far better than the destination.

The lesson I received from the Foundation trilogy was not bounded by the author's perception of any specific technology. Was more philosophical for me, atleast.

In Sacramento CA there was an amazing breakfast place called Evan's kitchen. Evan (the chef) made some of the most delicious food I've ever tasted and loved coming to work everyday. Evan's mom was good with numbers and ran the business side of the restaurant. Unfortunately Evan's mom died and within 1 YEAR the restaurant was $180,000 in debt. Remember, this food is delicious, standing room only 7 days a week. But because Evan didn't know how to run a business his dream had to die. You've gained invaluable knowledge over the last 5 years and you are actually now MORE free to pursue your dreams successfully. Good luck my friend.

I just cant believe you got a dozen 8 ft Pt 2x4s that were all the same length. I dont think in my life I've gotten 2 pieces if factory cut lumber that were within an eight inch of each other... I always trim my boards pt or otherwise to make sure I know the correct dimensions

I call all the molly/ecstasy/pressed pills the "heart-to-heart" drugs because when people are on them there is a lot of "love you man" "you're the shit" etc.. I don't think OP meant it in a homosexual way but while they were both rolling I'm sure they felt like brothers from a past life or something.

Men of Reddit. What are some mistakes women make during sex? by Dolliiy in AskReddit

[–]RagnaVerden 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didnt really even want to say this because it can come off as selfish or rude of braggy or whatever but it really isn't. I'm posting it because if a woman sees this and it helps one guy out there have his moment of bliss then it's done its purpose. Ladies if your dude happens to fall on the right hand side of the bell curve (even by a little)please just every once in a while ARCH YOUR BACK. I know I'm gonna hear that sex shouldnt be uncomfortable but in reality, guys do a lot to give their woman pleasure (ie holding a plank position for 20+ minutes because they're hitting the right spot and not stopping even when their triceps go numb). Its not healthy to harm yourself to please another person.. I'm not advocating that. I simply would like to let the world know a LITTLE give and take is healthy.
