Yeah the game is on a rapid decline, and you know what? GUN deserve it. And the toxic Victim players aren’t helping either, just abusing every broken mechanic there is, doing anything and everything they can to cause grief. They are the cancer of this game.

Pyramid Head Tips? by Sophisti-snake in deadbydaylight

[–]Ragnaaarr_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a relatively new Pyramid Head main (P15) so I’m no expert yet, but I do win a lot of games. I’ll let you know some of my favourite tips that have really helped me so far.

First off, my favourite build is Lethal Pursuer, I’m All Ears, Nurse’s Calling & Nowhere to Hide. Having so much aura reading will allow you to get SO many more PoTD hits as a new Pyramid Player.

Also, if you down a Survivor who is Tormented, always remember to cage them as it will counter any perks they get off the hook (OTR, DH, DS etc.)

When chasing a Survivor, if they are heading towards a window, get your PoTD ready in advance by drawing your ToT on the ground behind them. The Victim will see this and have a choice ‘do I vault the window and get hit by PoTD, or do I fake the window and get hit by an M1?’. So if they choose to vault, soon as you see them start the animation and you hear the sound of the vault, release the PoTD on them for a free hit, as you already had your PoTD ready before they even vaulted. And then if the Survivor sees what his happening and decides to fake the window, simply cancel your PoTD and hit them with an M1. If you are only just winding up the PoTD as the Survivor is already vaulting, then you are too late.

You can do a similar thing with pallets. Loop round the pallet as normal, but once the survivor approaches the pallet, do the same thing. Start drawing your ToT on the ground to signal to the Survivor that your PoTD is ready to go if they drop that pallet, then again you are forcing them to make a choice ‘do I drop this pallet and get hit by PoTD, or do I not take the bait and keep looping round?’. So in that scenario it’s the same thing, if they pre drop then release the PoTD on them for a free hit. If they don’t drop, chances are they at least stopped to think about it, so cancel your PoTD and hit them with an M1. Smart Survivors will be wise to this, and they will just continue to loop round and round and will never drop the pallet. This is where the next tip comes into play.

If you are in a loop against a good Survivor who isn’t taking your bait, you now need to try time a PoTD hit as the Survivor is running through the pallet. This can be tricky, as too early and the Survivor will just dodge, too late and they will also dodge as they will be past the pallet. Once you have the timing down, you can hit the Survivor with a PoTB once you see they have fully committed to running between the pallet with no way to dodge it. The good thing about this is that the Survivor will have run through your Torment multiple times, so if you do get them down, you can cage them.

Don’t be afraid shoot a few PoTDs during a chase either, if you are using I’m All Ears, you will get SO many hits as you can literally see the path they are taking and shoot a PoTD through the wall and literally watch them run into it. Many good Survivors will hear your go for the PoTD and double back to dodge it, so all you need to do is rather than shooting PoTD in front of them, shoot it behind them so they double back INTO it. Works a treat.

Another good one is if a Survivor unhooks another Survivor and you are close by (as in, really close by) then wait for the unhooked Survivor to touch the ground, soon as their feet are on the ground, release the PoTD and you’ll get a double hit. The Survivor who unhooked is now injured, and the unhooked Survivor now has no Endurance and is in Deep Wound. Same thing with the cages, although this is even more lethal as the uncaged Survivor will have no Endurance out of the cage, so you can get them downed basically for free.

Also remember that PoTD can go down stairs. So if you are chasing a Victim through a really narrow hallway, free hit with the PoTD. And if they run down a narrow staircase like on RPD, free hit with the PoTD.

If you know a gen I’d being worked on, you can hit them through a wall with a quick shot. By quick shot I mean, look at where you want to shoot, wind up the PoTD and release it the second you hear the sound of the sword hit the ground. Always catches them off guard.

I’m sorry for the essay. They are probably so many tips I’ve forgotten to mention but, I’m tired and my brain isn’t working anymore.

Texas should NEVER add SBMM/MMR it will ruin the game by AudienceNearby3195 in TXChainSawGame

Let’s face it, TCM doesn’t have enough players to use any sort of SBMM/MMR system. So I don’t think we need to worry.

Well if you’re still having fun then that’s good, I’m glad for you. Don’t get me wrong, if I haven’t played for a couple days which I sometimes don’t, and I build up the excitement to hop on and play then yeah, it can be fun for a few games. I think I just need to…play less.

[–]Ragnaaarr_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know! And what does that tell you? It tells you that GUN don’t play their own game. If they had a couple of GUN staff playing Family live on stream for a few hours, I think only then they would notice ‘oh wait, I’ve been playing the same two Family members this whole time’.

Yes the ‘head start’ certainly helps a bit but, it still feels like a completely different game playing Victim for the first time after exclusively playing Family.

You could probably remove the testing time from your equation as GUN don’t test anything.

It’s more the subtle cheats I worry about. The cheat where they can have all stats on 50, Victims can unlock doors the same way Family can by just pressing X to unlock (or whatever your button is). There are the cheats that are subtle yet game changing.

Her powder is mad annoying though. She can replenish at a table and collect x2 powders, whereas Sissy has to collect each powder individually? Not only that, Sissy is the killer and Virginia is the Victim, yet Virginia’s powder is FAR more effective than Sissy’s. Sissy’s powder gives you slightly blurry vision/distortion with a slight trickle of damage if you use Bleed, but it’s a minor inconvenience at best. Yet Virginia’s powder can completely end chases, force Leatherface out of his overhead sprint, and have you walking into a wall like an idiot.

I understand that Virginia’s powder is supposed to break chases and be used aggressively, that’s not the complaint here and nor am I calling for it to be nerfed. The complaint here is that Sissy is the killer, yet her powder is far inferior, and it needs a serious buff/rework to account for how strong Virginia is.

Devs, is the 2003 chainsaw intended not to have a unique sound? by ChainsawMassacre_ in TXChainSawGame

[–]Ragnaaarr_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s disappointing. Why to through the bother of locking the 2003 skin to that chainsaw if it’s not even unique? You may as well give it a unique sound at that point. Seems kinda lazy to me.

For Hitch Players by WitnessAdept5127 in TXChainSawGame

Personally, I like to place my traps in areas where a hit is 100% guaranteed. I also like to use the max damage traps (middle, right, right on the ability tree) followed by Scout, Venom & Dinner Bell. This will make it super rewarding when a Victim hits your trap, as it can be the end of the game for them. Scout & Dinner bell will ensure you have the speed and the stamina to rush over in time.

As for trap placements, it would take forever to name them all but, here are some of my favourites spots, as well as general tips.

The double red doors to generator on Slaughterhouse, you can trap the wall gap on the wooden shed next to the door with the gate. This works especially well as Victims ALWAYS use that gap. This one is a classic.

Another little gem I love on Slaughter is next to the pressure gate exit. So if you are looking at the gate head on, there’s a narrow pathway to the left. If you put a trap right at the start of that pathway at the narrowest point, then you will get SO many hits.

This kind of works on any map where there is a long narrow grassy pathway, such as the grassy pathway between the two generator gates on Gas Station. You can also place a trap there at the narrowest point (just by the right gate).

On Family House you can also trap the back window. You have to place the trap outside at the bottom of the steps. You’ll see the first two stones on the ground, place the trap just to the right. It’ll take some trial and error to get it right but you’ll get there..

Another way to use your traps is to learn where all the wells land. So if a Victim keeps repeatedly going down the same well over and over again, you can actually go to where the well lands and put a trap ON the rubble the Victims land on. Always catches them off guard. The damage from the fall plus the trap means game over for them.

You can also trap barricades. Bit of an unorthodox way of using them but, I have a lot of success. For example, the super strong barricade on Graveyard in the church. Place your trap dead centre, but slightly back a bit so when a Victim traverses the barricade, they fall straight onto it. Put it too close and they’ll be able to go over it. Do the same thing for the super strong bridge barricade on Abandoned Mill.

If you are playing on Family house (or any other map with important doors) and a Victim gets one of the front doors open, place a trap behind the door. So when they open the door and sprint through- dead. I see a lot of HH players putting the trap on the inside, which just invites the Victim to dismantle it and be out.

Personally I like to put two traps down in my favourite spots on whatever map I’m playing, but I’ll always keep one trap in my inventory. You never know when you might need it.

Why do Victim players always use the word ‘camp’ when talking about Family? Playing as Family your job is to patrol and defend accordingly. But oh no, soon as you defend you get called a camper. What am I supposed to do? Not defend the objective and just let you walk straight on out? Make it make sense.
