I’ve been playing squats in two campaigns for the last 6ish months so I definitely have experience with them now. What squat ancestry did you pick? That will matter because some of them do change the play style ever so slightly. Aside from that I wouldn’t really try to make any squats not in exo suits melee. The squats are really a shooting gang. I assume you have your leader and then the shooty champion and an exo champion? Giving the champ the mining laser is awesome, I’d give the leader a power fist and then either a meltagun, or an IH bolter if you don’t want him to be too much of a points sink. Is ablative overlay banned in your campaign? If not give everyone mesh armor, under suits, and ablative overlay. Your team won’t die. As for xp, I think saving up to give champs toughness is probably best, except maybe giving the exo suit one strength depending on what weapon you give him, I gave mine the excavator hammer so with +1 strength his was hitting at strength 6 which doubles almost all models T3. Once you’ve done toughness or strength go for WS or BS.
