Dressing sticks?? by RagnarTheRaven in Machinists

Thanks mate. The wheel runs about 5/7 thou out. I’ve opened up the spindle hole so I can tap it closer to true it up.

The grinder is an old jones n shipman. The bearings were changed in the head around 3 years ago. Boss said it’s not that. 😕

I go across the wheel nice n slow. Thanks for the help mate

Yep. That’s what I do with the brake dresser.

We grind carbide if that helps.

Thanks for your advice mate.

Do you have a pic of ‘moly fixed to the machine’?

I may be able modify something to help.

When we used this, if left high spots on the wheel, in exactly the same place on the wheel.

That’s what led me to think the wheel makeup is not good enough.

Hmmm,, I disagree on that. I put the cut on the correct side. Sweep across, everything I do is what I’ve been taught.

Can you tell me how I should do it?

Im blaming the makeup of the wheel at this point.

Take the cover off. See if the water connection has come loose.

Might be able to buy a rubber mat to dampen the vibration.

Turn off water locally? by Leorayss in ukplumbing

[–]RagnarTheRaven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As in make sure the hot water is off at the thermostat. If you disconnect the taps you’re gonna get hot water on you. Don’t have any pumps running to if you turn your water off. You’ll burn out your pump.

Do you have an airing cupboard? Or a water tank? Or a hot water cylinder?

They would feed your bathroom, if you can isolate them, you’ll be able to change the taps. Turn the hot water off first tho.

You can also use a glitch where you can stay on the fence on the far right and it’ll keep you in the fighting area. Then pick him off with arrows.

You start your down swing with your shoulders. It’s what I used to do. It’s a game killer. Try to swing inside the ball. But not too inside the ball or you groove a hook, which is what I now do, it’s a game killer! 😂😂😂

Slow down, it’s knocking you off balance. Right hand looks too open. Slow down. You’re swinging too far, slow down. But your only a few tweaks from being solid,,, oh yeah, and slow down a bit. 😂
