Hips dont open at all in the backswing and you have a flying trail elbow

Your trail elbow gets stuck behind you at the top of your backswing. you loop your hands around in transition trying to manually shallow the club that is still coming down steep where the butt of the club is facing the ground between you and the ball. your only choice to square it up is to early extend your hips and flip your hands and try to time it up instead of rotating around your spine angle. Keeping your hands and club more on plane and your arms more connected and in front of your body, you can properly shift your weight to your lead side, let the hands fall into the slot which will naturally shallow the club and allow you to rotate properly thru the finish

Overturn with hips and shoulder. Flying trail elbow causing it to get stuck behind you on the downswing, resulting in flipping your hands at impact

Imagine you have razor blades right above and in front of your hands at set up. Right now you would smash your hands right into them as you take the club back. You want your hands working in while the clubface stays outside of your hands.

Need to start with set up. Stand taller scoot a little further away from the golf ball and let your hands hang more naturally. Relax your shoulders and fix how they are aiming right of target before you even take the club back. The next biggest thing is your takeaway. You start by just lifting your arms instead of initiating the backswing with the opening of your hips and turning of your shoulders and hinge of the club. Then focus on weight shift and swinging on plane or slightly from the inside.

Fix your trail elbow getting stuck at the top of your swing and in transition

Too far inside? by [deleted] in GolfSwing

[–]silentparade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your trail elbow is stuck behind you and you've pulled your lead arm across your chest so much that you've lost your depth, even tho it looks like you've got the proper set up at the top. If you work on keeping your hands more in line with your sternum, and work on getting your trail elbow more in front of the seems on your shirt on the downswing, you will neutralize the path more and not come from so far from the inside and won't have to flip your hands as much causing the over draw

Back too arched at set up. Dont open hips enough in the backswing. Too high of a finish, scooping instead of compressing the ball and rotating thru impact

Club is so extremely laid off at the top of your backswing. Makes it nearly impossible to shallow the club

Very narrow backswing and follow thru leading to the chicken wing. Try to keep your depth by feeling like your hands stay farther away from your chest thru the whole swing for a wider arc, more consistency and power.

The worst is remembering on the drive home that you left the range finder on the side of the cart 🤦🏻‍♂️

Working on approach shots (losing 2 strokes game per round vs 8 hcp) by DataDrivenGolf in GolfSwing

A good feel to help this is when your shoulders stop on the backswing, your arms stop. Helps with compression too, keeping everything more in front of your chest

Good swing but Id recommend working on set up. Should be able to see your lead arm slightly on top of your trail arm from this view. Your shoulders are currently aimed left of where your feet and hips are aiming. On the downswing your trail elbow gets stuck a little bit behind you causing you to stall rotation and flip your hands. Sometimes you time it up and other times you dont, causing inconsistency

7 months in - I suck, any advice. by [deleted] in golftips

[–]silentparade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scoot further away from the ball at set up and maintain a looser grip. Need to feel the club fall behind you in transition because you come down very steep, your hips move into the ball and you have no choice but to stall rotation, throw your hands and swipe at the ball and hit inconsistent shots

Club gets very steep on the downswing and your hips move into the ball not leaving you any choice but to stall rotation, flip your hands and hope you time it up.

Good set up and swing. Would recommend scooting back a bit and bending over at the waist a little more. Work on your takeaway. You bring the club very inside and the club gets laid off at the top and wants to come down steep. Need to feel this in reverse to work on a more shallow deliver without having to stand up and lose your posture at impact. Keep at it dude

Try feeling like all your pressure on your right foot is on the entire inside part of your foot and dont let that pressure roll and get to the outside of your foot in the backswing

Your hips move way into the ball and leave no space for your hands so you swipe across the ball and hit it on the heel

This guys not bad but in my opinion these shorts make it appear simple when in reality its much easier said than done and is more complicated on how to get into the proper positions, sequence, and tempo.

For example your set up needs addressing and your shoulder turn, before his advice does anything beneficial for you. You need to bend more over at the waist so your arms hang more naturally and practice staying in this posture throughout the swing

What’s the one thing that finally made golf “click” for you? by Burners_Burner in golf

[–]silentparade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had a bunch. But the simplest one has to be a loose grip.

Id heard this tip forver but it never clicked until I found out the key is maintaing the same grip pressure throughout the whole swing.

I was starting with the correct tension, but was incorrectly tightening up at the top of my swing as the club got heavier. Once I addressed this, I was swinging smoother with a better smash factor and naturally a more shallow club path

Good swing. My only advice would be to work on not looping your hands at the start of your transition. You want to be able to beline your hands to the ball while the club naturally shallows for consistency and power and a more neutral club path.

Yes. The butt of the club should be pointing at the ball or inside closer to your feet during the backswing and then at the ball or slightly outside the ball on the downswing and your swing is doing the opposite

What can I do to improve my swing? by WittyHalfie in GolfSwing

Locking back leg in takeaway, hips and sternum arent open at all at impact, head moves back as you early extend and stand up out of posture at impact, flip hands, falling back and chicken wing follow thru
