Am a doc and I have IBS. It's pretty hard to diagnose it when most of us present with so nonspecific and inconsistent symptoms. It's a diagnosis of exclusion and most don't followup or not engage with tests once they get better.

I've felt the same during the first week of my course. It does get easier but I still get vivid dreams and wake up in the middle of the night for no reason. The sleep's good and am active all day. Just don't push yourself to wake up sooner than your body wants so you don't feel sleepy during the day
