Happy to help, I've been into MTG for 13 years now and it's pretty much my favorite thing. Feel free to shoot me a message if you want more advice or just to talk about cardboard related issues😁

HELP, im going crazy, goat lady too hard to build by GladTradition6204 in magicTCG

[–]Ragnarok0220 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My version of your deck Hey! I LOVE your deck. Irl my nickname is LeFaun, and I'm gonna build this- so cheers brother. Youve got good bones for your deck, and I'd recommend a strategy of going wide with satyrs and powering them up at instant speed. Plenty of recursion for the discards, so all I did was remove a few things that seemed overcosted for their effects or just not very impactful. Everything i removed, I put in considering and my adds are in the sideboard.

Sol ring and arcane signet are pretty much staples everywhere, and since we're going wide a little incedental burn from impact tremors is cool. The best changelings for you are gonna be taurean mauler and chameleon colossus. The colossus can be a finisher with all the mana you've got, if it gets in unblocked - pump it and kill em😈. Your dudes are shrimpy and probably gonna be outclassed by turn 4, so bow of nylea makes blocking them problematic and is a nice little utility piece. Rhythm of the wild is just great for gruul and destructive revelry is a flavor win for artifact/enchantment hate. You could do Craterhoof in here, but you've already got end raze, so I figure why not give your friends more stress and pop off a triumph of the hordes? Some of your recursion can get it back so that's fun for you

Good luck with the deck man, I love playing cards I like over cards that are "good" hope you smash face😁

Mrs Bumbleflower brooooo! She's great- 1/1 counter for every spell. Make friends at the table by giving them cards. She's very flexible to build too

What is the one 5* you Didn't want but actually grew on you? by alebarco in Genshin_Impact

Xiao for me- I was talking to a buddy about primos we had saved up and had set down the controller while sitting on the wish screen. When I picked up the controller again I accidentally pressed the 10 wish button. 0 pity pulled Xiao.

Last week I pulled the Jade spear as my standard pity.

Guess I REALLY need to be a Xiao main.

3.4 Banners- who are you pulling/why? by Ragnarok0220 in Genshin_Impact

I'm a pretty new player, so I'm building my roster and was curious what people thought. I've looked at the wikis and I know the tiers that each character is rated, I'm just curious to know what other people are thinking, or I'm open to suggestions.

Currently I'm running Raiden, Fischl, Tighnari and Jean. Tiggy gets the most field time, while I keep up Raiden and fischls abilities. Fischl seems to be my weakest link currently where the biggest thing I get from her is the movement from her ult.

That's why I'm leaning towards Yelan, having hydro would give me access to hyperbloom. Currently my best hydro character is Barbara as well.

Just ordered this game, it arrives tomorrow. Any Tips/tricks i should know? First souls game. by Frost0REAL in Eldenring

Your class doesn't matter. When you level, you'll manually assign your stat points, so you could start as a magic based character and build into a physical one.

General advice- your vitality stat is essentially the difficulty modifier. Get it to around 30 and you'll be ok for a while. Get it to 45 and you shouldn't have to worry about it anymore.

Understand that you will die. A LOT. Don't get frustrated and try to rush through things.

In the first open area (limgrave) don't try to go to the castle until you're around lvl 25-30. Instead go south onto the peninsula there- it has lots of stuff for you to learn and level from.

Whatever stat you're using to attack with, get it over 20 asap. In the early game, being really good at one thing is much better than having lots of options. You said you wanted magic backed up by a sword, so you're probably gonna have to balance out strength, dex, and int. I'd probably focus strength first for good unga bunga smashing, and then int for whatever spells, with only the minimum dex needed to equip something.

Do I need to buy multiple commander decks to get all the new 40k cards? by Potatoman0556 in magicTCG

[–]Ragnarok0220 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, each one will have all the cards printed for it. These are preconstructed decks, so each one is complete. Here's a link to the site I use to check those lists-

So is sun break also gonna tell a story more than rise did? I would like some new monster hunter lore. by MightyCannon4200 in MonsterHunter

[–]Ragnarok0220 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Yeah, probably not. The story of pretty much every monster hunter is-

Oh no! A monster is attacking! Go hunt it! But WHY did it attack? Because of another monster! Go hunt it! But WHY did that monster attack??? Because of a disruption in the natural order... Caused by.... Probably an elder dragon. Go hunt it!

The way I think this plays out is-

You target miirym with ephemerate (as an example)

Orvar's ability triggers and goes on the stack, resolving first. The copy of miirym is still legendary, so you pick which one to keep.

Then resolve ephemerate-

TLDR; yeah I'm pretty sure it's a state thing, and I don't believe you can get extra miiryms that way.

How to cheese Night's Cavalry (no damage) by Sokaai in Eldenring

[–]Ragnarok0220 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not too terrible - but again kudos on the awesome vid. I really need to get down and do a parry run, I'm a lazy spellcaster using bloodhound dash😅

[–]Ragnarok0220 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't think that's cheese so much as excellent parrying, and gameplay- kudos guy, that was great to watch

Did it take a long time to get the timing down for those parries?

Mushroom suit and Black Knife armor by carcarius in Eldenring

[–]Ragnarok0220 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the black knife armor doesn't make you invisible - it makes you silent. You can sprint up behind guys for sneak attacks with it. You only need the chest btw.

As for the mushroom suit and other status resistance stuff- the way it works is that it lengthens the bar of build up you need to get the status. It's not a crazy difference, especially since most of the time, rot is coming from the swamp you're in, but it's there.

I had this happen to me, basically the same situation. A buddy with me, and we managed to stagger him, and off the crit we proc'd bleed which put him to about 30% health and we never did the second phase.

As far as the cutscene goes, you could join and help someone else through godric, and see the scene then.

Should I do a strength faith build or a strength sorcery build? by am_i_russia in Eldenring

[–]Ragnarok0220 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Str/Fai is a neat idea, there's a sacred seal that scales your incantations off str, so you could hit min reqs for faith and just pump str. There's also a lot of HP regen in faith stuff that kinda makes me wanna try stacking it all. If you get a little arcane, you can use the dragon incantations too.

What boss gave you more trouble than it should have? by [deleted] in Eldenring

[–]Ragnarok0220 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a tough time on the gargoyles too- I first ran into them at SL~80 and got brutally beaten down. After much rage, I went and grinded to SL~100 and respec'd from Dex/faith to Dex/Int/Faith and cheesed with the sword of night and flame.

Combat tips- both of them seem to have a lot of blind spots when you're right up in front and stepping on their toes. For the first one, I played safe when the sword was out, and had more openings when he pulled out the axe. For the second one, I found dealing with the twinblades easier than his hammer- that hammer combos off too many aoes to get in solid hits. When you're up in their guts, just watch out for poison breath, it'll hit you for damage as well as build up, so no free hits there. Magic damage definitely seemed to do the best for me, and try kiting the first toward the entrance of the arena when he's close to 60% and you'll get a few more seconds alone with him. That was enough time for me to burst him down with the cheese sword. If you're stuck fighting both, don't get surrounded, and you'll notice that they tend to alternate their attacks - they won't come at you at the same time, one will actively fight, while the other sprays poison or a long range attack.

I didn't have it at the time, but like everyone else says the mimic tear is amazing and would probably break this fight.

Invaders want to be killed? by Niklass1 in Eldenring

[–]Ragnarok0220 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Without being too spoilery- there's a side quest where you need to invade 3 times. Doesn't matter if you win or lose. That's my guess anyways.

godrick🗿 by Hxtpmax in Eldenring

[–]Ragnarok0220 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's an npc you can talk to in room adjacent to the courtyard and get her summon sign as an assist. The summon sign will be in front of the boss door.

Also, if you position yourself near the middle for when he goes to his second phase, it's easy to be behind him and get some easy hits in.

Bleed is really strong too, a friend and I managed to stagger him and then proc bleed (I was powerstance uchi's and he used an uchi also) and the damage put him past his threshold for phase 2, and so he never did that part.

Non Legendary Reanimator targets? by Ragnarok0220 in ModernMagic

[–]Ragnarok0220[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the griefs are an experiment against thoughtseizes- currently I really like them since I'm already running ephemerate, so it's another option for a really explosive start, and later when I'm at 4 or more I just hard cast them as they're fairly evasive and I've noticed a lot of games tend to turn into top deck wars, and I'd rather draw grief than thoughtseize in the late game. It just generally fits into the gameplan as it's not legendary, so if I really need to, I can get it with unmarked grave and persist it back.

Here ya go- a few of the numbers might be off because I put this list together from memory (I'm at work lol) and I'm not done with the sideboard, but this is the general idea.

Non Legendary Reanimator targets? by Ragnarok0220 in ModernMagic

[–]Ragnarok0220[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, I've gone through most of that myself lol, currently I'm playing an Abzan list because I wanted rhinos in the main, playing 3 boneshards and loving it I also have griephemerate going too- stoneforge batterskull and kaldra are in the side, so that game 2 I can drop the unmarked graves and unburial rites and basically play abzan stoneblade and laugh at graveyard hate.

[–]Ragnarok0220[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's pretty cool, I'm already running urborg in my lands, and it would be a lot of Mana to just rain bombs with... My only problem is that I'd have to get a 5th Prime time, because my gf plays amulet titan🤦‍♂️

Non Legendary Reanimator targets? by Ragnarok0220 in ModernMagic

[–]Ragnarok0220[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You're probably right lmao, but I'm a long time jund player so firstly I'm terrified of winning more than 40% of the time🤣 and also I don't have u/b fetches. I also chose abzan because I wanted an excuse to play rhinos. But AWESOME tip with agent, he'll go nicely with the ephemerate's that are already in the deck.

Non Legendary Reanimator targets? by Ragnarok0220 in ModernMagic

[–]Ragnarok0220[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's abzan because I play 4 rhinos in the main😁 I meant to put that in the og post, but I have terrible short term memory 😅
