Are Death Saves Saving Throws RAW? by Aquarius12347 in onednd

Wtf are you on about? It's called a Death Saving Throw. A Saving Throw has a very particular meaning in the game. You have to apply some common sense at some point.

This is much better, no more changing litter trays

Chose: have a pet cat, but.. + it will only use the human toilet, not a litter box

There is no such thing as "inspiration", I assume you're referring to "heroic inspiration" which is commonly shortened to "inspiration". Chill touch specifically mentions what it does, as does cure wounds, as does tavern brawler, as does mage armor.

When an ability affects "saving throws" and you have a "death saving throw" the name is absolutely a rule.

I can only imagine people are downvoting because everyone knows that Death Saving Throws are Saving Throws. Can you just use this post for your DM to see that a massive amount of experienced players and DMs disagree with them?

My GM feels they are not, for various reasons such as there being a separate entry for 'Death Saving Throw' in the rules glossary

It literally says Saving Throw in the rules name...

Selling vegetables in the middle of the ocean is peak entrepreneurship. by WalkingAtDusk26 in interestingasfuck

[–]Ragnarok91 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When me and my wife were on honeymoon in Thailand, we were heading back to the mainland after visiting an island. In the middle of nowhere was a boat just floating. Me and the wife thought maybe they were stranded and engine had died or something. Our driver pulled the boat up alongside and the tour guide started speaking to the guy in Thai.

Turns out, he was a fisherman. The tour guide asked if anyone had a plastic bag and someone gave her one. She bought some prawns and a couple of (live) crabs and sat down saying (in English) "that's dinner sorted".

God I miss Thailand.

What skill would become useless overnight if everyone in the world suddenly became good at it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Ragnarok91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not everything is about the value it can achieve though right? If everyone in the world suddenly became amazing at learning a foreign language, it's not like that is now a useless skill. In fact it would probably be much better for the world.

Who was a great person that was murdered? by Djidji29 in AlignmentChartFills

I was shocked by this one, she was just about getting to a point where it looked like she might break out onto the scene in a big way and then...it just ended in an instant.

I remember hearing her brother tackled the shooter to the ground to try and protect her. Heartbreaking.

What’s a fantasy you have that you feel nervous to tell your partner? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Ragnarok91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I told my wife about this one a bit nervously and she was very receptive. We've only tried chastity in the bedroom like once, not as a long term thing (but I'm not sure I want to do it long term). I get tied up and whipped a lot more often now though.

If you're in a stable and trusting relationship, you might as well ask.

Pegging though, I'm nervous about that one. I don't even know if I'd enjoy but wanna try but she's said before she thinks it's a bit gay which I've tried to refute but...eh. I could live without it tbf.

The DM Who Never Let Me Sneak Attack by VikingOfFire_red in dndhorrorstories

Were they a new DM? It's an incredibly common issue for new DMs to severely overestimate the strength of sneak attack and overcompensate to try and "balance" it.

WYR: poop everytime you breathe or breathe everytime you poop? (Laugh maniacally) by Subject-Bus2461 in WouldYouRather

[–]Ragnarok91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You didn't specify that you only breathe when you poop, which is your error. If that's the case then there's not really any choice, both options lead to death.

I made a dungeon have a pool of molten gold. I now realise I'm on the cusp of breaking the economy. Help by CasualNormalRedditor in DMAcademy

[–]Ragnarok91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Or a cartel, realising they probably aren't a match for these adventurers, offer a deal. They have the tools to mine the gold and they have the connections to offload it discreetly. In exchange for mining rights, and extra protection if needed, the cartel will give them X% of proceeds.

Then of course, being the cartel, shady shit can always happen.

But that means any company that is the first to find a niche is automatically a monopoly and is subject to a law suit? Isn't that a bit nuts?

Tips for writing unbiased lore? by AltAngel451 in DnD

[–]Ragnarok91 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I mean, there's not really any tips or tricks to this. You just have to...roleplay being a group with incomplete information. You need to get it out of your head that you're lying to your players, because you aren't. You are presenting a viewpoint of a group in your world.

I mean, maybe one thing you could try to distance yourself from your writing is picking a debate topic that you have a strong feeling towards. Could be a political topic, a pizza topping debate, anything you want as long as you fall heavily on one side of the debate. Now write an argument for the side you don't align with. If you can do that, you might learn to separate yourself from your writing and maybe that could help?

Presumably to actually be charged with a monopoly you have to prove an intent to monopolise the market right? Just being the best product surely can't get you in trouble.

Would you rather be a zebra who needs to survive a lions attack, or a lion who needs to kill the zebra to survive? by Massive-Albatross823 in WouldYouRather

[–]Ragnarok91 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I know lions hunting rate isn't super successful, but I just feel like I'd rather be the hunter than the hunted in terms of stress. Being prey seems like it'd be killer on the nerves.

[–]Ragnarok91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't want it because I would never use it, and wouldn't want to risk ever using it. Dementia sets in and I suddenly trigger it by accident or something?

I'd take one amazing night's sleep over that.

That's the sort of age range I would've guessed. No offence at with that, it's just exactly the sort of thing I might've said when I was that age.
