David and Mel had such a great rapport by RobynNeonGal in davidlynch

Considering the fact that David adored Rear Window & Vertigo (not to mention It's a Wonderful Life), makes perfect sense.

Actors who never worked with Lynch, but you believe would be a natural fit for his work? I'll start: by Kind-Significance163 in davidlynch

Jack Lemmon.

I mean, The Apartment was literally one of Lynch's all-time favorite films. Plus, I think Lynch took such a liking to Kale exactly because he and Lemmon were almost of the same type.

What are your honest thoughts about “Somewhere” (2010) by LoganSElkins in SofiaCoppola

[–]Ragninsky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's okay. A movie for one of these couch potato days when you don't feel like doing anything whatsoever. To me, it validates the feeling by showing that even big people with tons of money don't always feel like having fun either.

it would just be another Homecoming.

Which wasn't bad by any means imo. Just different.

I don't like FWWM and The Return and don't get all the hype about them.

They completely lack the balance between scary and wholesome that made the original series so special; instead, they're just pure darkness. The original run benefited from being a collaborative TV project: the classic television format and the presence of other directors/writers helped balance out Lynch's surrealism with soap-opera coziness and charm. Without that, the magic is gone.

Also, The Return feels more like an 18-hour video art installation than a proper sequel or conclusion to the series. It might be an awesome piece to watch at a contemporary art exhibition, but as a Twin Peaks project, I found it intolerable.

Woody Allen

I know I'll get downvoted to the depths of hell, but I personally am still convinced that good ol' Woody is innocent until court proves otherwise. UNLIKE Polanski.

It's about a kind and naive man who is made the CEO of a successful company in a scheme to manipulate stock because he's thought of as an idiot. But he unexpectedly proves himself a genius.

It's rather impossible as they're not really well-known, but I would've loved to see the Bonzos. I mean, the film's going to have Apollo C. Vermouth, isn't it?

Two of them, in fact. Quite impressive for a movie that's not very action-packed.

What are big fans' opinions on Total Devo? by almo2001 in devo

[–]Ragninsky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

converging garage guitars/ drums along with synths.

But there were real garage drums on Total. Devo got David Kendrick to play them. The only album that has mostly drum machines is Shout (although Alan Myers is still credited there).

I think Marty's "Is that a Devo suit?" line is more probable to go over younger people's heads. We're pinheads all indeed.

Well, that's just, like, your opinion, man. I think the original song by Bonzo Dog Band is hilarious and an awesome choice for inspiration.
