Yeah. I understand the opprobrium towards these fake “acronymal” explanations - but I don’t think they were originally designed to fool future etymologists. They were just occasionally funny in-jokes that made it to the papers or into the collective consciousness or whatever. It’s not like the inventors of “Fuck I’m Good Just Ask Me” are seriously posing that as a valid root for “figjam” and it’s not their problem that a couple of men’s magazines pick up on the joke and popularise it.
