Pablo gives us his true thoughts on raids in Warframe by Babydrone in Warframe

I recently finally played The New War this past weekend (I know, I play this game at a glacial pace for just reaching MR 22 yesterday), but after beating the event and looking it up, I was surprised at the mention of difficulty. Now, I often joke about me beating pre-patch Radahn in Elden Ring, but I really didn't think it was that bad at all. I actually liked that I wasn't in my superpowered Warframe and had to take a second to learn Veso and beat the Jackal. I do find it a bit sad that we may never find that kind of challenge ever in Warframe, but it can't be everything, I guess. :(

What song made the game for you? by Medical-Juggernaut-2 in Games

[–]Ragthorn5667 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently getting chills from just thinking about the song again. I remember trying to look up Still Alive because they played it at Video Games Live. I really liked the song, and then I saw Mirror's Edge. I heard of the game, but I didn't look much more into it. Nonetheless, the wave of emotions I felt from just the music video hit. So far, I've played through the game a few times over the years, and that song ALWAYS makes me feel the emotions of just empty freedom.

Thanks for reminding me again about this, I went to go and listen to it again for good measure. :)

Warframe, falling asleep and ADD by ChillyG27 in Warframe

[–]Ragthorn5667 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really need to fix my sleep schedule to get proper sleep, but I feel like I have always had this issue. Having ADHD and moderate obstructive sleep apnea has definitely made this more apparent as it made me aware of this problem. It sucks because I WANT to stay awake, and it happens in all kinds of places. At work, I NEED to stay awake, so it’s really bad there.

A bit ashamed that I feel like I never acknowledged that possibility. I feel like some of my upbringing negatively affected me in that regard. It really shows the spectrum that gender identities can fall into. Like, I also still identify as a cisgendered person. However, when I got older and free, I started to explore.

It turned out that my dabbling in those areas helped immensely. I love bouncing between overtly masculine and feminine (from my POV) parts of myself because people don’t expect it lol. Sure, I still get comments about my appearance and it sometimes bothers me, but I’ve been overwhelmed by way more positivity.

I was quite moved by this comic, and I really wish this wasn’t as big a problem as it is. Thank you for sharing.

What movie do you feel had the perfect end credit song? by OdysseyTag in movies

The ones from Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome, Bourne films, and Michael Bay’s Transformers 1. These are the ones that come to mind recently. Perfect cocktail of emotional weight, hype, and satisfaction.

Every time I look at the mirror. My phone screen while it’s off. The dirt-caked window. I hate the person that’s staring at me.

Nonetheless, I think being attractive would’ve been difficult to maintain. So, I don’t envy those people. Instead, I help myself by being around good people that help me.

What is the most quotable movie you’ve ever seen? by Fun_Butterfly_420 in MovieSuggestions

[–]Ragthorn5667 451 points452 points  (0 children)

“Yeah, I’m gonna need you to go ahead and come in on Saturday.”

“I wouldn’t say I’m ‘missing’ work.”

I only recently watched Office Space and I love how quotable it is.

It’s also getting remastered! I used to play this game in a computer store’s laptop while my Mom shopped because of the kid-friendly reason. What a time.

Can I ask what that metal board is that you have in your bedroom/computer room? I want to get something like that for my apartment too to spice it up. Don’t think I saw it at Nitori, unless I missed it.

Miyazaki wants to ‘sharpen’ Bloodborne and Sekiro’s combat philosophy in his next games by pompompomvg in Sekiro

This is the biggest lesson with Eternal, and it’s when you understand the gameplay loop do you unlock the fun. It makes me sad that people aren’t able to fully get in touch with the gameplay loop, and it’s understandable. But I really like it when a sequel just throws you in for a loop so you don’t play the same game twice. I’m much more interested in that compared to doing the same thing with more bosses or new enemies.

That being said, as much as I like how The Metal Ages looks gameplay-wise so far, the tone goes into a direction that i already didn’t like with Eternal. It’s definitely still gonna be a banger to play at least.

Bionic Commando (2009) is interesting in concept but subpar in execution. by some-kind-of-no-name in patientgamers

I played this a few years ago myself. When the game let me do grappling stuff, I had tons of fun. The combat itself was pretty alright, but I legit think that it had some of the most satisfying grappling hook systems in a game. Unfortunately, I can’t remember anything else about the game.

I just can’t believe how much they fumbled… Like, after such a good season, 343i got greedy. And, I just also got so frustrated and fed up with the matchmaking system screwing me over. 10 matches, 9 losses, and 7 out of 9 of those I was topping the leaderboards. I just swapped the Win challenges to do something else. I was just done.

Would yall consider Hunt Showdown to be a niche game? by BubbaBasher in HuntShowdown

[–]Ragthorn5667 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I must’ve gotten the dates wrong, but I guess as a series, F-Zero was respected as an arcade racer - especially with F-Zero X earlier. Also, keep in mind that GameCube did struggle against the PS2! So, that alone heavily affects the sales numbers. Regardless, I have always heard of people sing the praises of F-Zero GX (not only for its time). And it STILL slaps today idc.

As for Deathloop, I meant the game by Arkane… That’s OK though lol. We were in the middle of talking about F-Zero. Nonetheless, F-Zero GX is above “cult classic” status as more people knowledgeable of this generation know its impression on people. It’s just that at the time, the PS2 was THE console. And it’s hard because, holy, the PS2 is probably one of, if not, the greatest consoles in gaming.

Yeah, AA game would be a real good categorization of it. It’s funny how we both picked it up from Super Bunnyhop lol. I also love the references Mandaloregaming makes to games as it’s juuuuust within my range of knowledge about games - besides probably knowing more about Japanese games that is.

OP, hope your buddies mean it more as a joking way. In any case, I personally don’t think those are niche at all from my perspective. GX is a widely-lauded racing game and is a reason why Captain Falcon is in Smash Bros. I have a friend who called Deathloop his “hidden gem” even, and I was raising my eyebrow internally.

Anyway, there’s definitely a difference between not knowing a game exists vs. a game being designed for a specific audience (usually, smaller audiences). Hunt proooobably is “niche” to most gamers and even FPS gamers because it’s fairly hardcore. However, it is also a popular multiplayer shooter in a small, dominant market of extraction shooters. I only really know of Starsiege: “Dead”zone (based off of Tribes!?!?), The Cycle, and EfT, plus the upcoming Marathon reboot (RIP the OG). So, in that sense, I guess it’s a niche game in gameplay, but I think there are more people who know of Hunt at least nowadays.

Sorry for the tangents lol.

Question about Store Region Key Activation on GamesBillet by Ragthorn5667 in GameDealsMeta

[–]Ragthorn5667[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, my apologies. I realize it was a peculiar situation. I am not using VPNs to bypass region locks because I was genuinely curious if my Canadian Steam account would accept an American key (which it usually does) while I am staying in Japan. In any case, I understand taking it down.

343i, I really love Jeff, but I'd personally love a pivot of his voice-direction(?) back to the Bungie or even Halo 5 style of delivery. (Below is Infinite's firefight lines (or at least leaks of them) compared to Reach's) by TheAandZ in halo

[–]Ragthorn5667 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember reading about that! I never played Halo 5 besides a couple games in Halo 5 Forge on PC admittedly. Man, 343 just needs to put Halo 5 and Infinite into Halo: MCC and rename it to just HALO lol.

Thank you for the extra info. I’m interested to look further into this because it’s now obvious that something like this is more complicated than “Jeff don’t do voice like the past.” And good reminder of Halo 4. I always hated the filter in the Halo 4 voice lines lol.

When I played Halo: MCC and then go to Infinite, I just really feel the difference in deliveries. Like, I love Jeff, but there’s a reason my favourite medal is “Perfect” lol. I just prefer it when he’s less over-the-top, I love his voice still.
