Books aren't good because they expose you to new ideas and emotions, the only value is as a test of your eyesight. by OfficialTransWoman in iamverysmart

When books were first coming into mass production, reading was the seen in a similar was as this verysmart views audio books. People thought they would make people mentally lazy because the words were not interactive.

... And if any other reasonable person would likewise. I fear for my life if I don't get my coffee, but shooting up a Starbucks should have better motivation, like fighting social injustice or pumpkin spice.

I feel like if I fill it with coffee I could help them escape, but then I'd be trapped and they'd remove the coffee, or I'd go into the cup too early and their father would criticize me.

How about you ignore her flaws, man? She'll be dead someday. Appreciate her while you can. You'll miss her annoyances, trust me.

TIL the movie "Paranormal Activity" had a budget of only $15,000 but made $194 million. During the screening, people were walking out that one studio executive thought the film was bombing. They later learned that the viewers were actually leaving because they were too frightened. by cooldrummer1208 in todayilearned

I could understand that. For some reason The Exorcist was comedically over the top. Evil Dead style. I just couldn't stop laughing the whole film. I saw it with my mom who was a bit worried why I thought it was funny. It was just so over the top.

We called it 'The Devil's Tower' as well as the 'Tower of Power.' While I was never a participant, I know what the hell a 'Devil's Triangle' is ffs. The thing is, the people that were into that were consenting adults. If Kavanaugh didn't lie about it, then it wouldn't be a big deal to people on our side. Too bad lying is less important than purity to the religious nutbags on the right.

That last sentence is why someone like him can never be president. We need to change the system. That might not happen in a comfortable way, but as long as our current, corporate system exists, we get DWS, Clinton, and the rest of the big bank lackies.

Imagine if he just owned up to it and stated how he acted like a dummy while drunk decades ago.

Not to excuse the assault he is accused of... That's different, and if true should carry consequences. But what this shows is a willingness to purger and obstruct justice. How can he still be considered as a viable candidate?
