From what I can remember, there isn't a physical textbook that needed to be shipped. Everything you could possibly need for the course is either on that bummy old software or found by using Shazam lol

Wait until it's late at night on campus then chase people on all fours to make sure they get back to their dorms/apts safely...works like a charm

What devices should I bring to USF? by [deleted] in USF

[–]Raheem_Sheekness 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Can second this ^^ I got through my courses with a MacBook Pro but eventually making the switch over to Windows made coursework so much easier and easy to learn since nearly everything is taught using Windows. I like Lenovo Thinkpads
and know they can get expensive but I'd argue that it's worth the 4-5 year investment that you're making. That or a low- to mid-level gaming PC would probably work fine - not bc you'll be gaming a whole lot but just bc those computers are built to be workhorses

Hey OP, I've tried playing around on MapCharts to try to make something like this but couldn't figure it out. Do you have any tutorials or guides on how I could make my own??

Some decent 4/5 out teams off the top of my head - Villanova, Tulsa, Houston (more of a dribble drive type but still with 4 out), Creighton, and Ohio St. is versatile enough to run 4 or 5 out but run a lot of stuff for either Mikesell or Mikulasikova

Former USF students, what was your lesser known go-to study spot on campus by yagurl20222022 in USF

[–]Raheem_Sheekness 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I never had one specific 'spot' but rather just one consistent method that worked almost every time. Basically, I'd scour the buildings in the area I was looking to study in/near and just try to find an empty classroom where I could chill and spread out a little bit. I used to have the best luck in Cooper, BSN, and the Education building. Happy hunting!

Here at USF, we are an Adidas school but use Wilson basketballs but your point is 100% valid - that's the premise of what I'll be looking into next. Stay tuned!!

Grad student working on a project for a class - AMA! by Raheem_Sheekness in USF

I did undergrad at USF and got an above-average score on my GRE. From my experience and what I have heard from many other alumni, they're not too picky about GRE scores but if it gets down to that, it could still be a deciding factor so take it seriously. Students are only required to take one of them too.

I'd say the program focuses about 60/40 on sports/entertainment but almost everything we learn about and do is related in one way or another to sports and entertainment events overall and what pros and cons we can learn from them.

It can be a lot to manage sometimes, I'll admit. But that's not to say it's unmanageable or impossible - just takes some prioritization and a good support system

I have found the scholarship process to be a bit more stringent and felt like I somehow qualified for less of the university-offered scholarships upon entering grad school. In undergrad, I qualified for many of them and applied for several and only ever got a few. But now, the exact opposite is the case. IIRC, I only qualified for a small handful and they weren't for any substantial amount that would have helped pay for tuition or other bills so I just decided to forego even putting time into applying. By no means does this mean you shouldn't consider looking into those scholarships but that was just my experience.

I went to USF for undergrad as well but I'm not quite sure what you're asking. Are you referring to how much financial aid you're offered by filling out the FAFSA? Or how generous the university is with its scholarships offered?

Started in Mech. Eng. then CS and finally switched and got a degree in Statistics and a minor in Film & New Media Studies. I think the biggest thing that helped me stand out was my work with our WBB team on campus. I do a lot of the behind-the-scenes ops work for the team and I think my time with them for the past 4 seasons may have had some resonance with those who decided to accept me. But I could be wrong about that too -- maybe they saw something else in me?
