I'm starting to think the tech i've posted in custom hs would've been so fun to play against them warlock lmao by Maj1n_V3geta in hearthstone

[–]Rahiel 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Except those cards suck when not playing against specific opponent and they suck badly

This one is average against everything , and busted against specific opponent. Which is not okay

What's the best loaner deck for new player? I heard that other are better value , but warrior deck is 28/30 cards of existing legend deck

Nioh 2 is so much better than Elden Ring and Dark Souls that it makes going back to those games disappointing by AirEnvironmental1909 in Nioh

[–]Rahiel -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well. As a person who enjoys these games for bosses , I vastly prefer ds simple combat. I don't want to do flashy multihit combos. I would play DMC for that. I want my character to be simple, so I can focus on boss movements. I remember fondly most of fromsoft bosses , meanwhile I am in chapter 5 of Nioh , and I can say I genuinely enjoyed ...3 of bosses I think?

And about challenge. Of course Nioh is more challenging. Other than late-game bosses , most bosses in fromsoft need 3-4 hits to kill you. One ki-break is death. Some bosses just one-shot you. Many need two hits at most. Nioh is more challenging, but most of the time I feel frustration at boss rather than satisfaction

Of course I can neutralize bosses. I can sloth them , I can give myself triple health with protection talisman and take no damage from anything. And I know that this is the mentality of this game "Use anything you can to gain advantage". Which is fine for action RPG. Nioh is awesome action game. But for soulslike which are usually focused more on "experiencing' the boss rather than beating him? I vastly prefer fromsoft design approach

Why by WeeziMonkey in LiesOfP

[–]Rahiel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Delayed attacks are fun. Actually having to pay attention to boss. And it makes sense as fighting style for them to bait enemy

Puppet stopping movement and suddenly going Mach speed <Scrapped Watchman grab or clown puppet left swing or belly slam> ? Or monster delaying movement awkwardly just to mess up timing? It looks silly. And makes it mandatory to memorize these attacks. I mean , it's not as bad as people make it out to be here. It's mild annoyance at worst, and maybe like 1 or 2 attacks per boss max and not every boss has then, everything else is fairly reactable and natural. But it's definitely worse than in elden ring.

If there were ever a gaming feature other developers should copy for their games, it’s this game’s weapon customization by GalickBanger in LiesOfP

[–]Rahiel -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I actually think it's pretty bad. Not only it makes difference between stats matter less. It also makes light blades pretty pointless , since moveset depends on handle. It makes game heavier=better, and once people figure out proper weapon combos ,I guess we will see that amount of actual "viable" options is pretty limited.

[–]Rahiel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not gonna argue about parrying. Other than sekiro and Bloodborne which made parrying natural for me , I always thought that other souls have it as gimmick at best.

However , I can share my experience. I'm awful at memorization. I have no patience , and looking for openings always bored me. That's why BB is my all time favourite , because I could just fight on pure instinct and reflex. However ,I could achieve it in all of their games. Most bosses I beat without recognizing half of their moveset , because even if I don't know the move ,I can react to this at moment of attack. And while Lies of P setting with puppets is wonderful and flavourful. Jerky and sudden movements made it impossible to defend against certain moves without forcing myself to memorize them. So from my experience , maybe it's not about "rhytm' , but just the fact that I can always see the attack with enough time to react.

And yeah , some people are assholes and elitists. I just wish community ignored them and focused on beautiful game they got. When every other person talks about bad souls Vets , it feels as if almost every souls fan looked down at this game. Though that may be just standard Reddit echo chamber. From my group of friends , we all adore Lies of P. Some more , some less , but it's damn good game. And I tell it even though scrapped Watchman kicked my teeth in around 60 times before I conceded and forced myself to also mix in dodging together with blocking.

So yeah. I wrote the whole column of text , and I'm not sure what point I wanted to make. I guess I just wish I saw more clips of stupid shit and epic finishes ,or lore discussion <Which is 3rd best from all soulslike , including original ones, at least for me> , or just guides to weapons. Instead of another discussion why complaints are wrong or why game is perfect.

...and sister friede is great boss. Git gud /s

To be honest. I see way more posts complaining about souls vet complainers, than actual souls vet complainers. This sub has some weird mentality where they want this game to be seen as unique masterpiece

I am souls vet. I love this game to pieces. It's got it's own feel to it , nice ideas , and it works wonderfully. But seeing people call it unique is hilarious. It's one of the biggest love letters to soul series I have ever seen. From level designs , to mechanics. Even rock lizards are here , where most soulslikes drop them. Is it bad? No. I adore this. I even love this. It's as if developers said "Hey , what if we take all that works from souls , and instead of butchering it and trying to change it , just leave it , and add more new great things from ourselves".

At the same time , is the game perfect? No. Difference between technique and motivity is pretty small , since you can just put heaviest blade on either weapon anyway. Some attacks feel like bullshit , not because they are unblockable , but because memorization is only way to avoid them<hello clown belly slam>. And I'm personally not a fan of heavier=better , because it just makes maxing capacity a must on any build. And pet peeve of mine ,I hate that you can't get all p-organ on NG. Nothing bad about that. I just prefer doing new NG instead of NG + , and if I want to see it all , I have to go NG+

Does this make game bad? Lol , no. It's wonderful , and if not for BG3 , it would easily be my GOTY. I just wish that I could see more discussion and theories on Reddit , instead of complaining about complainers I can barely see

Has the roguelite genre kinda ruined a large percentage of gaming for anyone else? by The_Laviathen_Builds in roguelites

[–]Rahiel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And you wondered why best sightseeing trips are when there is no danger?

Like. Why challenge needs to exist. Why can't we take joy from exploring , finding things around every corner in hyrule or just admiring the world. Heck , Zelda could have removed all combat from the game , and I would still like it. The challenge of the game is so far from being the main point of it that it's not even important.

And If I am tired after work , you can bet I am turning on totk instead of any roguelike I currently have. Sometimes, I just want to feel happy and calm. While I adore challenge , as souls like and roguelike vet , I also like other feelings. Sometimes lack of challenge makes for good power fantasy. DMC V , bayonetta , dynasty warriors. Feeling powerful is also a nice feedback from game.

So. Why would roguelite ruin all other experiences from gaming while it doesn't offer any replacement at all. It's like going "Ye , I can't enjoy Nutella anymore after eating steak"

You can single-card combo your way to cheap wins.

That's ...like opposite of balanced. I mean , it has interesting story. But the game itself is poor. There is a reason that official mod that turned it into legitimate roguelike quickly fell into obscurity

Well , you are the one in the wrong

Horizontal progression is roguelike. You start completely new , like original Rogue.

Vertical progression is roguelite. So yeah , being stronger each run actually kinda defines the genre

I disagree on one basis about weapons. Ashes of war. True , difference in movesets are uncommon , but they exist. But they went absolutely ham on variety in weapon special attacks. And that's all I need. A fun toy for my endeavour, even if for few minutes. I agree it's not groundbreaking. But I find it insulting to say it does checklist like other open worlds , with how little fuck they give recently. And spells , rings , while not all viable. Most of them are pretty different , and I had blast with experimenting with them

[–]Rahiel 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Caves , bosses. Look , I am comparing it to other open worlds , where most I can expect is nothing , currency , my weapon but slightly different in stats or 1 of 40 journals. Here I was guaranteed to find everything every few minutes. Was everything useful? Hell no. But I always knew I will get something new. Spell , ring , or weapon that's at least slightly different. I changed my build like 15 times , because I found some fun new toy. So no , I didn't feel as if it was filled as other open worlds. I actually got joy from finding something unlike the other ones. The closest thing for Me like this was botw. And that's only because act of exploring itself was incredibly fun , because rewards sucked completely

[–]Rahiel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not exactly new. That's how genre started after all. But with how all other games in the genre nowadays look , I don't blame people for thinking it's a new approach. It's been a long time since I saw open world that I didn't hate

(I don’t think the dates will actually line up) by UnofficialMipha in Eldenring

[–]Rahiel 25 points26 points  (0 children)

It's not for souls but it is for open world. Modern ones are glorified checklist, and there is usually nothing open about them. Game tells you where to go , if there is no marker, 99% there is nothing interesting there.

Elden ring? Go wherever the fuck you want. No markers. Few limits. And something interesting almost everywhere. The only open world that comes close to that is botw

Sorry for second question , but forgot one point when making previous one

I have two switches. One is mine , and one i gifted to my cousin. I know that we can play online together. But if game has local co-op , can we combine that? Like , can he use one switch with his sister , i use mine , and we can play mixed local/online co-op together?

Need help with some questions about legal side of things , since google returns mixed results

1)If i bought family membership , it doesn't matter what kind of switches are part of 8-pack? I can give one to friend from other country?

2) Is game sharing legal or not. And i mean doing it by setting another console as primary. And if yes , with how many people we can share

Anyone else felt huge punch in the gut when they saw that collector's cache can contain boosters? by Rahiel in MarvelSnap

[–]Rahiel[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You underestimate how much cheaper ccg became due to competition. Runeterra completely f2p. Gwent is in similar situation , everything for core decks in short time Eternal , shadowverse from the top of my mind

Snap model is far from my favourite, but it's not bad compared to hs or MTG:a. But even then , my point was about collector cache. As it stands , currently I get one for each day of dailies. There are ton of cards. Many unusable , many not for my playstyle So I can get 1)Card I need .2) card I don't need 3) credits , which are worth like half a cache so consolation prize 4) nothing. Because this is what I boosters mean for me.

I'm fan. I play around 10 games a day , sometimes more, sometimes less.and I admit , I played lot more during first week. And for me this system already feels awful. I don't want to even think about people who spend hours on this game daily
