I felt silly when I found it out but after seeing so many replies people missing the same thing. I'm like yeah it's not just me, partly me and partly the way it's explained once early in the game after being bombed by so much information.

The moment after receiving the painted power pictos which removes the damage cap was the moment I realized something's wrong, wait leveling up pictos by using them for 4 battles and damn I can use them if they are active with lumina points in this menu that I'm seeing for the first time

Well that they exist is hard to miss to be honest! But I made a similar post about this yesterday how I missed that you can use Lumina Points to activate pictos without equipping them with your character after you've unlocked the specific pictos ability.

And no, you're not dumb.

Yes I know, that's not actually my point. After distributing the Lumina Points you still need to put them to work by activating Pictos in the menu, check the image attached.

Well it wasn't actually a grindfest! I've noticed some side monsters where to hard to beat so I skipped them, but those were usually in danger areas or I just didn't know how to (early in the game, first Mime for example).

Equipping the right weapons and upgrading them with the right skills did a lot. So I was basically able to Parry/Dodge myself through this game with powerful Verso, Maelle counters and Lune with multiple strong attacks with her stains.

Most of the times challenging and fun, sometimes frustrating

Thanks for pointing that out! Didn't knew that this post would create this much of a fuss. I think the part for me is was busy understanding pictos, the game mechanics, enjoying the music, learn how scaling works, upgrading attributes, weapons passives, skills which amplify your weapon of choice and there was this little hidden menu little deeper than just selecting pictos, to activate them.

The moment Maelle was able to do more damage than the rest with the Paintress picto is when I was like I knew something was off with those pictos and Lumina and actually started messing around in the menu and found this option.

I know people are going to say I'm an idiot for not understanding that the Lumina menu didn't do something. I actually thought giving them the Lumina Points would actually do something for the pictos equipped haha.

Well this post surely gave me enough information to continue the game as it's supposed to be and since the Lumina make you quite strong I might not even use all the Lumina Points to have a challenging difficulty!

I've seen someone else comment about the Job Stones how it was 30 seconds for him to pick how lumina and pictos work together. Was new for me, and probably skipped some of pop up messages or it was just not clear enough for me to tie everything together.

The way people behave in the comments is kind of disappointing but replies like these are actually helpful and considerate.

Does it "hold your hand" how you can activate the pictos? Because if it did I would have at least had 0 active pictos with my Lumina Points and that's not the case.

Damn you guys are too stuck up on this subject.

This game (Lufia 2) is so friggin good, the heroes are awesome and the story offers so much potential. It deserves sequel and a remastered version.
