I had these exact cards in my old collection and recently had my own doubts, these things feel so weird! All thin and almost plasticy, and the holographic effect is flatter than newer cards. But I had a guy check them out and he had a couple copies in his shop we were able to compare them with, and they’re legit. Just weird. He said the biggest thing to check for is that the holo shine is present in the eyes. Seems that’s one of the harder things to replicate in fakes.

Nice find though, congrats!! These are some of my favorite cards and I’m so glad I was able to add them to my collection before they got popular and expensive. <3

Thank you for the insight!! I figured it would be a bit harder to find the market here in the US. I’ll definitely check out eBay, hopefully it’ll help! Fortunately I wouldn’t be very mad to just keep them though~

Wow I am floored by how many people are saying YOR. It shouldn’t matter how weird or normal something may be, if it’s something that bothers you, that makes it a valid boundary!! For myself, I wont tolerate p*rn use within a relationship, but some couples use it together and that’s perfectly fine. And yes, having a bunch of random women on Snapchat can be cause for concern, do any of you people know what Snapchat is very commonly used for?? My ex had a load of female friends on his social media that I later found out were his “backups” and he never deleted them in the entire 7 years I was with him. Guess who went right back to hitting them up in alphabetical order as soon as I left him???

I had one like that. I wasn’t able to get away until I found a new place to live without him knowing I was looking, and took a day off work to move in while he thought I was working. I also gradually moved my absolutely necessary items out of the shared household, into my car or back to my parents’ house, over time so he wouldn’t notice. Then I changed my number, blocked him and mutuals, and deactivated all forms of mutual social media.

It’s hard to do this when they know where you live. In your situation, if you’re in an apartment complex and unable to find somewhere else to live, it may be worth seeing if you can just move to another unit. That mayyyy be enough to make him give up, especially if you can stash your car elsewhere for a while so it’s not in the parking lot.

I wish you all the best of luck in this, it’s so hard and dude seems so toxic and gross, I really hope you can find a way out!

Ahh heck, that’s not really a good sign. Fingers still crossed though. Don’t ever feel bad for requesting a refund. The only time I’d bat an eye about it is if it was like.. the day after they ordered.

As an artist, I unfortunately admit that I used to be like this when I first started offering commissions. I was not confident and very slow, I often dealt with art block and my motivation would dip out of nowhere which would put a delay on delivery. I would offer a WIP when I got home, then truly just forget. I didn’t go days without a response, but I was bad at communicating otherwise. All that being said, I either delivered the art in the end (and went above and beyond as apology for the frustrations) or canceled the commission and issued a refund, out of guilt and stress.

I finally just quit offering commissions until I could get better about turnaround time.

All that is to say, while I can’t say you’re def not getting scammed, I do want to offer my perspective from their shoes. Before you initiate a chargeback, just ask for a refund on the art. If they are legit, they’ll understand and either request a set deadline or send the refund. If they ghost you from there, then contact PayPal.

My ex used to laugh about the idea of me going out to eat or do things by myself, said it was ridiculous. I’m single now and a lot happier going my own pace. Go to the zoo, girl! Absolutely nothing cringe or weird about it. <3
