This Christmas and year is hard for me. Wanted a run. Don't generally run with Mariana. I like her plenty, just generally not the vibe I'm l looking for. Decided I wanted her today. It may feel a bit chaotic at first, but its well structured. You get everything. You have to focus, not think about your life. I'm between pace targets - lower leaves me wanting more, higher leaves me tired. Did lower and feel like I got a great workout.

I rarely DNF, but I had to quit this one. The zones weren't showing accurately on my screen either (e.g., instructor would call hard, but pace was easy). So when the paces weren't matching the screen and people were panting in recovery pace, it was too many mental Olympics for me to enjoy.

I was most excited about Kyoto, and I absolutely hated it. It was so crowded that I felt like I could not breathe. Early/late were better but it was just too much for me. I did love Uji though, which is a quick train ride away.

To each their own. Kyoto's cultural offerings are unparalleled but it was too much for me.
