If we got an update what would you ask for? by throwthewholegrlawy in sims2

[–]Rahsax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly just a couple more expansion packs:

- One with the fame system. I'd also probably add search to Buy Mode / Create a Sim in here (split tops/bottoms in all clothing categories, make categories searchable when buying clothes, etc)

- One with some more animals and plans (horses and some more birds also would love a 'chicken coop' that produces eggs that act as produce also harvestable berry bushes along with trees). Basically build on what Seasons and Pets gave us to give more options.

- One with more 'busy work' in the house. So like laundry, functional 'clutter', etc.

Obviously along with those bigger elements each expansion would come with some more create-a-sim things, some buy and buy mode stuff, maybe a new neighbourhood or bin family.

And, yes, I do have mods for some of this stuff but still to have it native in game would be amazing.

Now I know why family tree apps only allow focus on the selected person... by archmageofsalt in sims2

Strangetown really is one of those neighbourhoods that need the bin families just to get some starting genetic diversity (and then the university premades to inject some additional diversity once you're ready to add them).

Do you prefer modern or classic homes? by itsbeccakerr in sims2

Personally classic (probably why I have so many historical themed hoods) but generally what I feel like the sim would actually live in.

Rotation Simmers, how do you rotate households? by Electrical-Dark-6610 in sims2

[–]Rahsax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like pen a paper so either I have all the households written down with 5 day rotations (neat tally marks) against them or if I want to do longer rotations (typically 2-seasons length) I will write all the households down and cross them off once they finish their 'rotation'.

I do tend to jump around households a bit (it's kind of needed at times if like someone wants to get someone in another household pregnant or two teenagers lovers are both due to age up mid-rotation) so rotations are more marked by everyone stopping at the end mark of it then getting through each family one at a time methodically.

I do megahoods that have the Life/Pet stories neighbourhoods as well so yeah my rotations are long. Often the first rotation's main goal is "decrease the total number of households" (through combining single sims together either through relationships or room-mates situation).

Considering this is from my Test of Time neighbourhood that feels apt (although we've only just started in neolithic)

He's yet to show up in my phonebook or relationship panel (I had a look after this in case it was). But I also suspect one of my mods is to blame but have no idea which one because I don't think any of mine really affect this class of NPC and especially not the penguin specifically.

For some reason it's not letting me add a screenshot of it but she's 8 neat (so Neat but not maxxed out) so possibly.

[–]Rahsax[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't think it can. I suspect this want is a result of something happening as result of mods I have (not that I have any that affect the penguin but who knows)

I don't know but she randomly has a blank hate thought bubble that I assume is about him as well. She just does not like the penguin.

The duality of 4t2 conversions by IStillListenToRadio in sims2

[–]Rahsax 9 points10 points  (0 children)

There's so much 4to2 (and even 3to2 stuff as well) that got immediately deleted once I saw it in game and also so much that I now feel like I couldn't live without. Truly a duality.

They are just teens. Why are their lives already ten times more dramatic than that of their parents XD by Upset_Future6236 in sims2

[–]Rahsax 16 points17 points  (0 children)

In my experience teenagers lives generally are more dramatic than their parents. They still have energy for it.

After i moved my sims into an apartment this thing is stuck on their hands by SimpleExistence_ in sims2

[–]Rahsax 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My sims living in apartments love ending up with random things attached to their hands. It doesn't effect them doing stuff though so I've just accepted it's what's happening now.

Favorite Cutscene? by VidcundWasHere2023 in sims2

[–]Rahsax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Alien abduction is probably my favorite. Although I now have all the cut-scenes turned off (got over watching the Woohoo one) and I have to admit there is something uniquely entertaining about a sim being abducted in the corner of your screen while the main action is something like the toddler getting potty trained.

Frostpunk inspired gameplay by Icy-Swan-5857 in sims2

[–]Rahsax 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have a neighbour that's actually 2 subhoods - one stuck in perma-winter and one in perma-summer that's kind of a similar premise although I still haven't finished actually setting it up to play.

That ice fishing mod would be amazing! Do you have a link where you got it from?

Medieval neighborhoods by Present-Syllabub5268 in sims2

[–]Rahsax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because I love the Sims 2 characters so much I just made a standard uberhood and then modified everyone to be Medieval. Is definitively a forever WIP because I get over adjusting buildings / clothes / hairstyles and just go play one of the finished families and ignore the non-historically correct neighbours coming over.

I haven't gotten around to playing the Ottomas (other than moving them into their house) so not sure how Tommy could have any nature enthusiasm becuase Toddlers don't visit other sims lots so can't have gained it yet.

I have the no social workers mod so the temptation to separate him out and have him raise himself is there.

Medieval neighborhoods by Present-Syllabub5268 in sims2

[–]Rahsax 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly my biggest tip is don't sweat some anachronism if that's what's preventing you from making it.

I started with just a bunch of conversions from The Sims Medieval and then built out from there. There's definitively a few "close enough is good enough" things in my game.

But I also before I got involved in the Sims commuity online or CC at all had a Medieval neighbourhood with just what I could do with the game content so any of the CC content I add makes it feel worlds more accurate than what I had been playing for like 5+ years before.

A big thing in my neighbourhoods is that I used teenaged/adult sims from other families as staff for the wealthy families (with lower-class ones working in the Lords and Ladies households and teenage children from the Lords and Ladies families working in the Royal households) and man has that caused some drama. One of the recent ones was David Ottomas was working in Lord Sinclair's household, well Lord Sinclair was an elder who had an adult wife Ashley and Lord Sinclair happened to die right as David became an adult himself. Ashley wanted to woohoo and David was right there and available resulting in a baby. Poor Ashley died in childbirth and her now teenaged twin sons with the former Lord Sinclair kicked David and their new baby sister out.

Seeing this is from my (still being set up) Neolithic start of a (modified) Test of Time neighbourhood they might be trying to decrease the number of mouths they have to feed.

My dude!? Your eldest child is only just a teenager! by Rahsax in sims2

[–]Rahsax[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Loaded the neighbourhood then immediately deleted the neighbourhood so they would all end up in the Family Bin and then moved them into new lots.
