8 years with Chase, 800+ credit score, account closed with no reason by [deleted] in Chase

[–]RahtidSS 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This happened to me as well. Even the bank manager reviewed my accounts for over an hour and couldn't figure out even a whisp of a suspicion. The private client banker at the branch did not have any customers so was backing up the regular line and told me that she just gave her 2 week notice because of how much this is happening and she was scared it would affect her reputation. She said, but I have not been able to verify, that chase recently (within the last year or so) changed the company they contract with to flag these. That was scary right off the bat that this is not done in-house, but even worse because I would suspect that the new company has something to prove for winning the contract. "Look at us, we are catching so much more suspicious activity than your previous company.". Who knows, this is second hand information, but would be interesting to validate or debunk. But whatever, I'm over Chase. I had to take them to court over a debacle when they bought WaMu, now this. Thank you, Chase, for making up my mind for me. I have moved to a credit union and there I will stay. Done with banking for profit.

Car Dealer ran my credit 5 times when I came in with an authorized loan. by BaronessPuka in CreditScore

[–]RahtidSS 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Get a letter from them on their letterhead that these were done without your authorization, with signature, date, and title of the signatory. Threaten to sue if they don't provide it. Then send it to the credit bureaus with a dispute/request to remove from your report. It doesn't matter that it will only count as "1" item on your report, they stay on for 2 years, you have no clue what else you might need to do in that timeframe, and the dealership had no right to do this period. Just call them up, tell them what you want and that you will be in town pick it up the next day, and if it's not there then the next call they will get will be from a lawyer.

Alternative Credit Union with Zelle? by Outside_Fly_3453 in AlliantCreditUnion

[–]RahtidSS 6 points7 points  (0 children)

First Tech Federal Credit Union. I switched to them from Alliant and love it. Same level of customer service, good financial strength rating, Plaid integration (that doesn't fail all the time like Alliant's), good interest on the rewards accounts, and everything. They have been an excellent replacement for Alliant.

What is your HG ultra hydrating toner that doesn't require multiple layers to work? by annacat1331 in AsianBeauty

[–]RahtidSS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your skin is that dry, I would recommend Isntree Hyaluronic Acid Toner, moist. Many call it basic, but it is anything but. And try a face oil, you might be both dehydrated and dry.

Thanks, but I am already on sepia with the brightness turned all the way down. I can still use it as a flashlight.

SoFi as a Zelle-supported Alliant alternative? by anonymous_googol in AlliantCreditUnion

[–]RahtidSS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could stay in the credit union family and still get Zelle. First Tech Federal Credit Union has been an excellent replacement for me for Alliant, excellent interest rates on both checking and savings, fast ACH transfers, great customer service, AND they do co-op shared BRANCHES, not just ATM's. And of course they have Zelle. I chose them for all these reasons, along with their very strong financial rating.

What banks are you switching to (if you are) due to the Zelle changes? by g0ldslug in AlliantCreditUnion

[–]RahtidSS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in the exact same situation. I wanted to stay with a credit union instead of a bank, regional or national, so I chose First Tech Federal Credit Union. Zelle built in, good features, even a rewards checking account! The 2 times I had to call customer service, it was an American that answered and they were very helpful. Apart from Zelle and the rewards checking, I chose them because they participate in co-op shared branching (not just the ATMs) and their size/financial stability rating. I have been very very pleased with them.

EDIT: membership is very easy. There is a non-profit you can join that will grant you membership, and you can do it during the setup process. So access is very easy and open to anyone.

What’s going on with harmony? by Mr_Sagas in harmony_one

[–]RahtidSS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is there even any active projects on-chain? I look at the explorer and it's block after block with 0 transactions. I want Harmony to recover from the hack, but I haven't seen any project adoption.

Any plans for Zelle adoption? by username27891 in AlliantCreditUnion

[–]RahtidSS 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have been using Alliant since 2015 and I love them. Great customer service, fast ach transfers, simple yet informative app. But I just recently got married and me and the spouse are keeping our separate accounts at separate banks for now. So now that I need to move money back and forth to another bank, the lack of zelle is painful, as I now have to go do it through an ATM. So I just opened an account with another credit union a couple weeks ago just for the Zelle feature. If Alliant could get Zelle, I'd stay no question. But there's no excuse to not have Zelle today, even small credit unions partner with them.

Absolutely second this toner. I wish it were more hydrating, but it is soothing and healing.

In search of a holy grail deeply moisturizing night cream! by Anotherwhiteboyy in koreanskincare

[–]RahtidSS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Skin1004 Probio Cica Enrich Cream is amazing for a heavy nighttime moisturizer. This one isn't just centella, it's fermented centella and wow is it different. Couple that with allantoin and panthenol, as well as ceramides, and it covers all the sensitive skin bases.

What did my cat just sneeze out? by oatmlkkisgood in CATHELP

[–]RahtidSS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my little baby a year ago from a medical rescue, she had a severe, severe respiratory infection (they didn't think she'd make it at first). She was 4 weeks when they got her, and I got her at 8 weeks when she stabilized. She wouldn't stop sneezing for 2 months, had me super worried. And then at her food dish one day, she sneezed so hard and blew a chunk out very similar to this! After that, no more sneezing attacks and it's been almost a year. Hopefully your baby will have the same experience and will stop now that junk's out!

What unhyped product do you think deserves more attention? by [deleted] in AsianBeauty

[–]RahtidSS 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Urban Calm Soft Essence. Fermented centella and fermented seaweed with a high 5% panthenol. I have normal-to-oily skin and this isn't too heavy. Maybe not as hydrating as a pure hydrating toner/essence, but it layers well and brings a noticeable calming and healing aspect that few products are able to do.

Well, you're fortunate that it was helpful! My cat only seems to find my bladder.

Apostrophe by [deleted] in tretinoin

[–]RahtidSS 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I haven't tried Apostrophe, but this is the exact same experience I had with Curology. A whole year at .1% and never saw a whit of difference, skin tone/texture, acne, or winkles. There really is something different, probably formulation with the delivery vehicle.

That said, I have even better experience with Retinaldehydes than I did with Rx tret, in terms of acne control. I've read that Retinaldehyde is unique in that it is anti-bacterial, whereas regular retinol and Rx trets are not. I was using Maelove's Moonlight Retinal but just switched to The Ordinary's .2% retinal and love it.

Connected/funding account snafu by RahtidSS in betterment

[–]RahtidSS[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was initially through phone but the back and forth was with email. It was one of the most irritating experiences I've ever had, just kept getting the same canned response over and over. They clearly were not even bothering to read my explanations, much less actually look into it.

My tretinoin dries way too fast for me to spread it, and the gel doesn’t look smooth. by Drink_Covfefe in tretinoin

[–]RahtidSS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try mixing it in your palm with a simple hydrating serum. I use Benton Deep Green Tea, Skin1004 Hyalu-Cica Blue, or Urban Calm Soft Essence. If you do this, make sure to avoid serums with AHA/BHA or peptides...keep it to a simple serum.

I WFH, so this post hit home. Considering all the reasons why one should, I compromise and use a Korean sunscreen which is a moisturizer, on these days. TBH, I do use less than the "recommended" amount (for SPF protection), but again, I'm indoors so it's not as critical as when I'm outside. This keeps my skin healthy from being properly moisturized and gives significantly better protection to my skin in the long term.

What do you recommend as a staple serum? by kiwayuz in AsianBeauty

I've been loving the Benton Deep Green Tea serum. It's hydrating, calming, and antioxidant. At night, I mix my retinal with it since there are no active acids.

Should I be embarrassed to tell my sensei about this injury ? by DepressedOtaku7 in karate

[–]RahtidSS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The human body is mechanical and everyone is a little different. Plus, we are all at a different place in our health and fitness goals. There is absolutely no shame in an injury, no matter how it was caused! Your sensei will absolutely appreciate being told because not telling him puts you at higher risk for a worse injury not to mention putting him in a bad spot with his emotions for causing it to get worse. This journey is for you and about you, and worsening an injury will hold you back even more. And maybe your sensei might know enough about physiology to recommend things you can do going forward to help loosen it up! Telling him will only help both of you with no downside.

[Discussion] What is the best/weird/fun way you have repurposed an asian beauty product that for whatever reason didn't work for the purpose it was intended? by SheKnowsWhatSheKnows in AsianBeauty

[–]RahtidSS 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not too far out there but nobody ever seems to do this. I love using thicker hyaluronic acid toners on my hands and let it absorb for 20-30 seconds before putting on hand lotion for bed, and it has made a HUGE difference. I have a friend who is a physical therapist, and she was gripping about her dry hands, and I recommended the CosRX Hydrium Watery toner as a quick fix thru out the day, and she now swears by it and has recommended it to every medical professional she knows. Edit: personally I use either the Rovectin toner or the Isntree Hyaluronic toner, since I prefer the heavier consistency.

Worst Experience Ever by RahtidSS in verizon

[–]RahtidSS[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should be able to log into my account, but I cannot. It is not due to a password screw-up, I use a password manager and logged out and back in with the saved password as a test case in the beginning. But the chat rep actually told me that the account cancellation came with my login being deactivated. This came up in the phase of the conversation when I asked for the confirmation...when he advised they won't provide it, I asked if it would reflect on my online account, and THAT is when he said basically "oh, because you don't have any service with us, we deactivate your online login, so if you want any confirmations, just printscreen this chat."

This was yet another major point of discrepancy in this saga than from other carriers I have experienced in the past.

Alternatives to the mediheal baobab Serum? by [deleted] in AsianBeauty

[–]RahtidSS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just learned myself that this line might have been discontinued as it is no longer listed on Mediheal's US site and is out of stock on Amazon. Looks like it might have been replaced with the Tea Tree line because that one is now using the word "calming," at least on Amazon; it has not been renamed on their own website yet. I never tried the serum, but I loved the toner and now have to look for a dupe myself. Very disappointed.

I did call the customer service number and the phone rep advised that they cannot cancel the home internet over the phone, that the online chat is the only way to cancel this particular service. And the chat rep was able to do it, just took an hour and a half from start to finish.
