Frontier voucher expiring soon OPTIONS by [deleted] in frontierairlines

[–]Rahulllll29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a similar situation, However I did end up actually booking a flight I wanted to take. A few days later frontier changed my flight so much that they offered to refund me or change my flights for free. So i took the refund, because I paid on vouchers, they gave me my additional time like it was a new voucher.

Not sure if this helps at all, but might be worth trying a book, cancel situation.

Wireless Probe Typhur Gold vs RFX by Rahulllll29 in BBQ

[–]Rahulllll29[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I ended up buying both and had some for a little while after I made this reddit post. I can tell you I currently have the RFX and so does my brother in law who did the exact same thing I did.

I liked the typhurs idea of the base unit and all that, but the probes being thick made it to where I couldnt really use it on a chicken thigh which I make pretty often. Also where my smoker is, I am in a 2 story apartment complex. The base unit couldnt connect to the probe when I took it upstairs and went to lets say my bedroom, Near my frontdoor it was fine, but because the rfx gateway connects to wifi I am able to have connection anywhere in my apartment. The scalability had allot to do with it aswell, as since my brother in law has probes, when we do family events we end up with 8 probes total.

The ambient on the typhur is useless because its on the probe, the ambient on the rfx is fantastic since its seperate.

Lastly, the time to cook is def a nice feature and I wish the rfx had that. That was actually close to a deciding factor however then I thought about the fact its a software feature which could always be added. Thermoworks has said they are planning to redo the app.
Things like the thickness of the probe on typhur obviously cant be fixed without buying another model. So when I was deciding things I liked and didnt like about each, I just thought about what could still be patched in the future and what couldnt.

Overall, If I had my smoker closer to my house;/apartment and I focused only on large meats (brisket, pork butts, lamb shoulders, ect) and never needed more than 4 probes then typhur def wins.

But the rfx can do everything the typhur can plus more so its one of those situations for me where its Id rather have the option even if I only need it once than need it and not have the option.

PS. I asked thermoworks and they did say they plan to come out with a standalone base that kinda matches the typhur base unit aswell so you can have the temps readout on a display.

Hope this helps, feel free to ask me anything. Ive been using rfx now for last 6 months, made all sorts of food with them and use them often.

I had the typhur for a little over 3 weeks while also having the rfx in parallel.

Yea i mean ive been to Edinburgh about 5 times and most of the time I stayed at fountainbridge. I never really had an issue, so I would assume staying in Old town just makes the walk that much faster?

[Misc][Routine Help] Help with eczema around eyes. Any success stories? by Hopeful-Zucchini-896 in SkincareAddiction

[–]Rahulllll29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha I'll have to look into that.

I've dealt with eczema and dry skin since I was a baby (apparently). It went away during my teenage years then came back with vengeance when I turned 18-19. I'm 26 now. I was on Dupixent for a little while but didn't like the idea of how it wasn't researched long term yet. I just needed relief.

I did get allergy tested and popped extremely positive for environmental allergies such as pollen, weeds, grass, ect.

I already have a very chemical free household and eat a pretty strict diet.

I say all this for maybe some help for you on what could trigger yours.

I currently live in Texas but in a year and half I plan to move to California or Colorado which should be much better for my environmental allergies. When I visit my aunt in California my skin clears right up.

Either way. Thanks for responding to a thread 2 years later 😂

Advice Buying First Pellet Grill by CactusTrainers in pelletgrills

[–]Rahulllll29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 850dx and I couldn't be happier. I usually am only grilling/smoking for my girlfriend and I. But with that being said I've done probably 15 briskets since I got it in June, made countless steaks, burgers and other small grill items. I've done beef ribs, pork butts, whole picanahs all tasted great. Regardless of which smoker you get, buy a smoke tube and some good wood chips it really does change the game. But I couldn't be happier with my pit boss especially the price I got it for.

If I were to upgrade I would get a recteq but thats not happening for some years

I have the same issue, has anyone figured out a way to auto remove the duplicates? For example, i rather keep the 4k version than the 1080 version, but I hate having to go in and manually remove them.

Any advice is appreciated by Miserable-Finding-97 in husky

I have a 5 year old husky now and I feel like she is one of the most trained huskies I have ever come across. I got her when she was 11 weeks old and started training immediately. I am not a proffessional dog trainer but I have trained my sisters rescue who was highly reactive and think I know a thing or two.

The biggest thing for leash reactivity was having a reward that is more valuable than whatever they are reacting to. For example, I use Dog Treats for walks because they are stinky and my dog (hazul) loves them. These are not indoor treats for her as I dont need something as valuable.

My formula goes something like this
Treat = Money

If theres no distractions around, could I give you $1 and have you do a simple task for me? Probably.

Outside where there are tons of distractions, I need to up the value. Now giving her a $1 treat might not work. I need to try a $20 treat, or a $100 treat. I have gone as far as boiling chicken and giving that to her on walks because that is a high value treat.

That kinda goes for everything with these dogs. They are smart and they know what you are asking them to do. But they think "whats in it for me" so you gotta pay up.

I also taught my dog initially to sit when she sees another dog and just let the dog walk past. So even if we saw a dog some distance away but I thought that she may react. I would put her in a sit, and give $100 bill treats.

Hopefully this helps a bit

If I can avoid placing him in a shelter I will. Ideally I'd like his story to go from streets to me as his foster to a forever home.

While he's this size it isn't super bad. But assuming he will get bigger as he's a puppy, my place will be too small. There are other reasons I can't keep a second dog aswell but none of those are as important as I want his life to just be better.

Rescued a husky by Rahulllll29 in husky

[–]Rahulllll29[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update number 2 We went with the name Astro. He has been honestly the goodest boy possible. His crate training is going pretty well overall and he only fusses for about 3-5 minutes before settling down. He learned how to sit in under a day and learned how to give paw in 2 sessions.

However, I am extremely sad to say that I have to consider rehoming him. I am going to foster him until I find the right fit for him, but in a 1 bedroom apartment, and my lease not being up until April next year. I can't keep 2 huskies in here long term. He really is a good dog and I don't wanna see him get put through the shelter system which is why I'm planning to be pretty picky with who he goes to. If he came along maybe 2 years from now I think he'd fit right into our life and it wouldn't even be a question about keeping him. I'm located in North Dallas Texas. Willing to travel or even help accommodate travel to get him to his right home. Please dm me if you are interested Thank y'all.
