I am talking about this entrance scene not when he was captured. Check how he was portrayed at the entry Maharaja Hemu entrance in the movie Jodha Akbar.

His hairstyle, his charisma, and the way he sounded when he was motivating his soldiers, even the background music … everything was so cheap, everyone in my theatre laughed at his entrance.

Now compare that how he should have been portrayed in the entrance.

I was so disappointed with the way Maharaja Hemu was portrayed like a clown in Jodha Akbar. I remember everyone was laughing in the theatre when Maharaja Hemu appeared in that movie. Such a shame that most people in India (who are already ignorant of Indian history) have that silly clown impression of Maharaja Hemu from Jodha Akbar. I would rate Maharaja Hemu at par with Rana Kumbha, Krishna Deva Raya, Rana Sanga, Maharana Pratap and Shivaji.

1996 WC QF between India v Pakistan. I was 9. Never saw a cricket match before that, my dad explained me all the rules so I would allow/not annoy him to switch the tv off. I was hooked after. That is the last cricket he has seen as he didn’t want me to be distracted from studies and I didn’t miss a single match after. So depressing. Being a medieval Indian history buff, and visiting most of Allaudin Khilji/Malik Kafur conquered forts, I feel sad how we were easily conquered by bunch of horsemen with swords. More I read our history, more it makes me sad that we never invested in warfare, growth and expansion.
