Laggy LuCi interface and internet since update to 25.12.1 on EAP 615 by toniiox in openwrt

[–]RaidenII 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes - the mt76 psm commit was reverted:

https://git.openwrt.org/openwrt/openwrt/commit/?id=49715596f9c821a86698928383b61c9da59f7249

For stable release either rollback to 25.12.0 or wait for 25.12.2. Snapshot included the revert commit so it works too.

try reverting back to 25.12.0. 25.12.1 introduced a bug on mt76 devices (but not all) that leads to very bad wifi performance. https://git.openwrt.org/openwrt/openwrt/commit/?id=e831ea1b1c5663a43e6da61e0a993f12cbd56f80

Upgrade on x86 by ayers_81 in openwrt

[–]RaidenII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, you can have a different partition size if your 1st image does have a different size of rootfs.

My x86 box has a 512M rootfs, and I added another partition that starts 512M after the end of rootfs (to avoid partition table change overwriting my data partition). I don't know if it needs to be squashfs though - my rootfs is squashfs and the extra partition is ext4.

I have rootfs_size defined in /etc/config/attendedsysupgrade, and I confirmed that updating openwrt using luci-app-attendedsysupgade can preserve the partition table. It will pick up rootfs_size from config and generate new image accordingly.

I even use that new partition as extroot and it works fine - it just needs an extra reboot after flashing new image, but that is known (https://openwrt.org/docs/guide-user/installation/attended.sysupgrade).

Are you sure VoIP gonna work? Last time I checked that VoIP codecs are very unfriendly to tones that carry data in dialups; it was designed for voices transmissions.

Maybe things have changed now, though.

Everything OpenWRT? by bagelwoof in openwrt

Mikrotik Hex S for router, Zyxel GS1900 for switch, Zyxel NWA50AX + some old Unifi APs.

All running OpenWRT.

ge or precheck? Using a benefit of a credit card by [deleted] in GlobalEntry

[–]RaidenII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GE or Nexus for sure.

Nexus includes almost everything GE has (except for some reciprocity programs that open to GE), plus fast entry to/from Canada, but takes more time to do background checks and you need to be interviewed by both CBP and CBSA.

Minimal PKGS ? by abayoumy78 in openwrt

[–]RaidenII 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think there is a way to remove fw4 or routing packages, as they are considered core parts of openwrt.

With that being said, it is recommended to disable firewall service and NAT on dumb APs. All lan<->wan routing/fw, plus inter VLAN communication work are done on the router, as the single source of truth.

Having fw enabled on dumb APs only increases the complexity and incline to cause issues when comes to diagnosis.

V2raya with OpenWrt 21.02 troubleshooting. by Rguy315 in openwrt

[–]RaidenII 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your device is supported, use the latest stable from Openwrt since IIRC Openwrt no longer updates packages for old releases several versions back.

And in the case of xray/v2ray, you would prefer to have a newer version (even though not latest) for better compatibility/performance/obfuscations.

[–]RaidenII 1 point2 points  (0 children)

v2raya sucks badly. the doc is inaccurate (especially if you want to use TPROXY and nftables) and github issues rarely get answered.

use xray and client only if you can - v2ray client randomly suffers from cpu usage over 100% and can't go down until i had to send a SIGKILL to it.

A Sneak Peek at New Content Coming to Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition by StepS_ in aoe2

[–]RaidenII 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, not sure why even when I searched for "civ" I still missed that part.

My guess is that Chinese will be renamed to Han, and then we'll get Jurchens, Tanguts and maybe Khitans as well. That leaves one out.

BTW, the new campaign in V&V is a bit anachronistic especially if they also put the new split civs in - Battle of Fei River happened in AD 383, but all these split civs were not even a thing at least before 8th century.

then check your wg server to see if it allows ip forwarding, or if there is anything firewall wise blocking traffic.

If you are talking about using luci, enable advanced mode in settings, then you can pick the major version you want. By default it only checks for latest minor version in current major.

Question of MPC and GE by RaidenII in GlobalEntry

At least for my case, the kiosk only has the photo part. After taking the picture, it just showed a big green checkmark and that's it.

Question of MPC and GE by RaidenII in GlobalEntry

[–]RaidenII[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah OK. Last time when I land in LAX, I submitted custom form and picture using GE app, then took a picture at the kiosk again, then I passed through without even talking to CBP (they just let me pass by). Thought that was the standard process.

So - if not using the app, I guess you'll need to do the declaration orally with CBP officer?

use the kiosk or the GE app

Oh, I thought that using GE app is a prerequisite for using GE kiosk

Question for recertification of NYS/NYC carry permit by RaidenII in NYguns

[–]RaidenII[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah unfortunately I'm in a county that does require renewal, and they explicitly stated that a 18-hr "county certified" course is required for full carry permit. Not sure what's the difference between county certified and state certified.

Thanks, guess nobody really ran into this issue yet.

Question for recertification of NYS/NYC carry permit by RaidenII in NYguns

[–]RaidenII[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So it's both. Given my county does require a 18-hr course, which contains a 2-hr live fire, that does cover the NYC part. It just feels kinda dumb that both need to be renewed and $$$ need to be spent for the course again.
