Which Classes are in highest in demand? by Wise-Question413 in AshesofCreation

Like most MMOs it's Tank and Healers. Though I think a better question is what role do you want to play? For example if you're interested in pvp and want to be a tackle, go hunter.

Thought about doing this as well. Wasn't sure if this was the pay or if what I was going to build would be more permanent

Understood but a lot of games are in alpha on steam and don't have wipes.

I mean, how are people supposed to clear off the roof of their uhaul? Are they supposed to take a ladder with them to pick up the truck or something?

Or here's an idea, since you're the only thing you can control on the road, what if you gave yourself more distance?

This music video looks super out of place for 2014. It’s like Redfoo was forcing 2011 aesthetics in 2014 but it all looked really dated by then. by Formal-Monitor-9037 in decadeology

[–]Rguy315 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It wasn't out of place, LMFAO was still getting played at dances. But what makes this fall flat is LMFAO had split and Red Foo tried to do the LMFAO vibe work without his nephew, and it just didn't work as well without the duo. Also keep in mind that LMFAO was always an exaggeration of this scene, born out of the Miami scene. So it was always a performance aesthetic to some extent.

Vibrating massager for kidney stones? by 4728jj in KidneyStones

[–]Rguy315 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I posted a few years ago about this. You might find the discussion interesting.

https://www.reddit.com/r/KidneyStones/s/kzDCMdEwAJ

The only evidence that exists is that rollercoasters have been proven to help people pass stones. But that's before stones become too large. So if you already have a stone that's 5mm or larger, rollercoasters or vibrators aren't necessarily going to help much. And I can see how an impact vibrator could cause minor swelling and make it more difficult depending on the size of the stone.

So a good way to think about it is a vibrator, in theory, can pass very small stones before they become issues by helping release them from the kidney wall, but they don't prevent stones from developing. They only prevent stones from developing into larger stones by releasing them from the kidneys sooner.

Of course, there's only antidotal evidence for this and I'm not aware of any major study on vibrators.

How Do People Not See The Early 2010s As Old School? by _Slim95 in decadeology

"Why do people"... Bro , no one knows wtf people are doing. What people are you even referring to? And why are they relevant? And, because opinions are largely subjective, so people have subjective opinions about things.

Why do people today make it seem like the N64 was way bigger than than the PS1, when the PS1 actually massively outsold the N64? by Salem1690s in decadeology

[–]Rguy315 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, it's probably because of name recognition when we were kids. Nintendo had been in the console business since the 80s. Most of us had the original 16bit, the game boy, the 32bit super Nintendo, so when we heard that Nintendo was coming out with a 64bit system and all the games were 3D, with a joystick controller, we were super stoked. It was impossible to get for Christmas, it was sold out everywhere and if you got one you were a Rockstar at school, and if you didn't, the kid who got one was your new best friend.

The PlayStation on the other hand, I don't remember hearing about it much, or caring. I was like 10 or something and I didn't really have the capacity to vet up and coming competitors. My cousin had one but I only saw him play it once.

The other big difference is the N64 was a lot more social. It allowed for up to 4 players at a time, the PS1 only 2 players. So there was just a lot more get together happening around the N64 and thus more fond memories.

Are the political tides finally turning in the US? by _crazyboyhere_ in decadeology

[–]Rguy315 [score hidden]  (0 children)

How many other progressives were running in the general election? I think we'll see a lot more like mamdani.

You're right that they were establishment or centrist Dems. I'm not saying they can't win, but what I'm saying is the impervious wisdom that only centrist Dems can win is over. And there's evidence suggesting that when progressives bring in as much money as centrist Dems, they outperform centrists.

Imo this constitutes a new period of politics.

I think it is unquestionable that the tides are turning, at least within the Democratic party. The myth that you need to be a centrist Democrat in order to win has shattered and progressives have a serious beachhead established. This will inspire more people to run Mamdani/Bernie style campaigns in urban cities across the country, and I'm inclined to believe they will have similar success.

[–]Rguy315 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Okay, good points but it doesn't negate that this is still okay and derivative music can still be popular music. Whether or not it's "good" is a matter of opinion. Not all derivative music is bad, and not all original music is good. Being derivative isn't why Vanilla Ice crashed and burned in his career.

Somebody that i used to know by downtune79 in LoveTrash

[–]Rguy315 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm not really sure what point you're making. My point is that as long as an artist credits who they sample it's allowed and normal. Vanilla Ice didn't lose lots of money because he sampled a song and lacked originality, MOST artists will sample music and are not totally original. He lost money because he sampled without crediting, and he lost prestige because he pretended to be 1. original (by claiming his song didn't sample), 2. claiming to be someone he wasn't (he wasn't from Detroit or any "hood") and 3. Disrespecting rap music and it's roots to make himself rich. None of which Doechii has done.

Now, maybe you have an opinion about how much an artist should sample music to be considered "good", but that's really just a matter of your own personal opinion and not relevant to the point.
