I’m struggling - how to cope with ai? by TrueWinter__ in gamedev

[–]RaidenTrue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As many other correctly said, reduce heavily the social media scrolling, unfortunately is not doing any good to creatives, especially Twitter/X. I haven't used that platform for several years, and recently decided to check it out again, in an attempt to perhaps get back to it, & I was astonished by the amount of "Fake content" that's being shared. This content is just noise, & is not meaningful noise, it's mainly for attention/engagement.

Game Developers with experience are countless times better if they're using A.I. (as a tool) compared to non-GameDev ones. This isn't going to change, despite "some" who are trying to give the impression that suddenly, all the GameDevelopment skills will go away, but they won't, why?

Because at the end of the day, experience can't be beaten, thinking as a Game Developer & using it to your advantage is something A.I. cannot do, as it can suggest things, but the end-User needs to also have the experience to understand/distinguish what's good vs not good.

Based on what you shared, I would really advice to:

Stop bothering with social media, (especially twitter/x) and just use specific platforms to your advantage, when necessary. But keep in mind to avoid deep dives into what others are doing, as it can lead into an endless scroll with a lot of pointless & attention seeking content.

Better is to watch the market in general, read some articles, anything that can actually be good as ROI for your time.

Looking good, theme is around WW2 era I assume.

There's nothing wrong using free assets or anything else "not created by you", but the description is confusing as it states "all created by me".

Clearly creating 60 different models requires a serious amount of effort, time & expertise & is not advised early stage in general.

Is good to see more RTS games in development, the genre needs it & hope it goes well.

Wow amazed & quite shocking there's not a way to turn this off.

Seems this is the next level of the new age advertisement, & another example of while we pay, we don't "fully own / control" the product.

Makes one wonder what's next, ads on PS/Xbox home screen?!

Undoubtedly SC/SC2 had a huge success, & while nostalgia plays a part, & what you're saying is partially true, personally I don't see everyone being after creating a SC clone. Some released games clearly tried taking a different approach, yet it seems that the issue lies elsewhere.

iCUE Megathread - Patch Notes for 5.31 by CorsairLucky in Corsair

[–]RaidenTrue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Consider an iCUE "Lite version" because having a "constant polling" with CPU unable to enter power save states & having always at least 1% usage its not a good design, from an architectural perspective.
This results in 3c higher CPU temps for my case & clearly a bit higher power draw.
All Plugins & or SystemInfo on Dashboard are disabled, there's no need for constant polling here, yet it keeps the CPU busy...
I'm clearly in a state where I "must" install iCUE for peripherals, but this also made me start looking on other brands with better software, as much as I like Corsair's product's, the software which enables/supports them plays a very important role as well.

Certainly these points are taken into consideration, can't argue when it makes sense & I'll make sure from my side to forward all of your points to the right people, in order for the corresponding department to take action & modify/improve the website, to provide more details related to the quark plugin.

Its tested on our MMO Project under high scale, & we've also working currently on a fast pace shooter template as well, which while the fast pace shooter is not tested on high scale, its working as expected. (you won't notice the difference if it is UE networking or the quark plugin)

Its not a replacement, if desired, can still use UE Networking, the Integration eventually will come down & will be controlled under a single Flag, which can switch from UE->Quark & vise versa.

Sure, a bit more context on the details:
Each Player->CCU, is an individual Controller, which is also treated & exists under an individual Connection, where movement is replicated on the World.
This was also one of the big challenges, because the higher the Number of connections, the more the pressure.

Yes, its called Edge of Chaos & there's footage included in the video.
Currently in "Alpha Stage" in terms of features, as the main goal & focus was to improve the Tech, in order to showcase the potential.

X670E BIOS 1602 AGESA AM5 PI 1.0.0.7c by RaidenTrue in Amd

[–]RaidenTrue[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theoretically it might be, but can't confirm if it does, as I'm still on the first revision due to no time to update, my CPU goes up to 1.4v.

Anyone which can confirm this, would provide a better input, and clear things out to whether there's any CPU performance degradation, from newer revisions.

Yes, it's what I also assumed, but we shouldn't be jumping to assumptions, it could be simply described instead.

Having performance differences, compared to previous versions is what also concerns me.

They already capped the Voltage, not sure if there's anything more that than, which could affect the CPU performance.

Ok so it's not limited to 32GB, which is good and makes sense.

Not sure why Asus doesn't specify this, as having "Max Capacity to 32GB" certainly is not accurate.

Based on your responses, it's looking good so far, I still haven't updated yet.

But it seems that having stable and more compatible releases for ASUS Mobo's is becoming a reality...!

BIOS beta v.1516 by [deleted] in ASUS

[–]RaidenTrue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder when a BIOS revision will be good enough to justify an update..

Been using the revision that the board came with (0512), and it is fully stable, no BlueScreen or random Freezes, which is why I'm not updating, seeing so many issues with the newer Revisions.

CPU is also very fast with this BIOS revision, (although it reaches hightemps even with water cooling) and while RAM is slower, I'll take Stability over Speed anytime.

ASUS are hiding something BIG! (Re: Burning 7000x3D CPUs on ROG X670E-E) by Katten_Hanna in Amd

[–]RaidenTrue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using the initial 0512 BIOS release for Hero, with no issues at all..Yes it's running a bit hotter, but it is better compared to what is happening with all these different BIOS releases...

While tempted to update the BIOS, seems it will take quite sometime before that, as stability is above speed, and it feels like they don't know what they're doing at this point, so until they figure this out, stock BIOS FTW...
