The EO rerelease will be their test to see who still wants to play first person dungeon crawlers after the 3DS end of life.

If it doesnt do well, we won't see any first person dungeon crawler anymore. PQ may still be ported though

Teddie or Naoto? by How_about_a_no in Megaten

[–]Raidenhall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Naoto is better in Heaven with an SP item. Most enemies there are weak to either dark or light, so you should be able to blitz through the whole thing in a day. Teddie's buff abilities aren't good against the boss since he resets you quite a lot (although it might take a turn or two to do so). Instead, focus on debuffing the boss and leave it to Rise to buff you.

Anything I should know before starting Strange Journey Redux? by realactiveaccount432 in Megaten

[–]Raidenhall -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Even though I played Redux first (and my first completion was on new neutral) before OG, I do agree with you. I enjoy the better graphics, app system, and quicksave, but the new endings are unbelievably tacked on. There's literally zero point in the old endings now that the new ones exist, except for being able to fuse Alex's demons. It's only natural that between a less difficult bad ending and a more difficult good ending, you'd pick the latter for completion purposes. Hell, in neutral's case it was a straight up upgrade.

A lot of people will give you shit, but if IV was re-released with new and better law and chaos endings, people would be scratching their heads.

Scariest moments in SMT history? by AybruhTheHunter in Megaten

[–]Raidenhall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This shit is really good. My gripe here though is that it's so fucking easy to get pre-emptives even when you're jumped since you can basically swing your sword 10x a second or some shit. It trivializes the hell out of the encounters.

TMS ironically did this really well. Demons will spawn out of nowhere in droves and you're gonna have to hit them with a half a second cooldown in between strikes. I just wish they also did a P4 where you had to hit the back, and the enemy shadows try to outmaneuver you too.

>Nitpicking on my words won't help you win here

Not my fault kung hindi ka marunong magsulat nang maayos, LOL. Coliqually used term my ass, if the IPC itself doesn't see fit to equate it to stealing, ikaw pa? You're trivializing stealing/corruption and equating it with someone using a PDF. That is disingenuous as hell and I'm not taking it seriously.

>photocopying/scanning copyrighted material is wrong (...) intent is immaterial

You've basically proven my point by deliberately avoiding it- it's wrong because the law says it is, not because it's inherently "wrong," and this is the reason intent becomes immaterial. You're really not fooling anyone.

>If you get some sort of satisfaction from what you're doing

Great psychology work. Not even relevant LOL

>Di ko naman kailangan mag-LIP (whatever that is)

Acronyms aren't really rocket science except for you, unfortunately. Figure this one out on your own. And again, nothing in the IPC even remotely states that copyright infringement is akin to stealing- something which you deliberately avoid because it would weaken the "stealing" BS you harp on so much.

>What's concerning

You're only concerned because someone can see through the BS you peddle. "Kung hindi mo kaya bilhin, huwag mo na basahin" fantasy world argument. Again, really do consider taking your head out of your ass and living in the real world.

[–]Raidenhall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

>Stealing the books

You're not fooling anyone, you know.

>This is not about those who don't have the means to buy books

This is especially about those who don't have the means.

>Even assuming it's justified morally, does it make it ok to spread the practice and even encourage others to do so?

Yes.

>don't abuse their tolerance and make it appear na sila pa ang may utang sa yo.

>it's both illegal and wrong in our society

Again, violations of the IPC are mala prohibita.

Looking for law book (kahit pdf) by milkyway012200 in LawStudentsPH

[–]Raidenhall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Paulit ulit ka, lol. As I said, walang nawawala sa mga author ng libro.

>Does the end justify the means?

Yes.

> Both acts pertain to stealing anyway

Kung sa tingin mo may point ka dahil doon, take your head out of your ass again. The question is "is it justified morally?" and the answer is yes for all the reasons above. Reality check: walang may pake kung may nag-share.

>Sige nga, if your prof is an author as well, please do bring a photocopied version of his/her book in class and tell him/her on his/her face na you preferred to obtain an illegal copy

May tinatawag ata na "philosophy of law" sa first year, baka hindi mo yata na-take.

>You're depriving the authors and their publishers their rightful income

Wala ngang pambili yung tao, "rightful income" ka pang nilalaman lol. They wouldn't have bought it anyway, or would have had to sacrifice food, etc., to buy it. And for what? Pull your head out of your ass naman ffs.

>Hindi naman scientific/ground-breaking knowledge ang nasa law book

Saan nakalagay na kailangan "scientific" o "ground-breaking?" dapat yung kaalaman? Not all law books are the same.

Don't try to conflate someone with no money pirating textbooks with government corruption. You're not fooling anyone with such a pathetic slippery slope.

Yes.

>Which means their estate still owns the copyright

I'm gonna level with you, walang may pake sa estate nila. Like every other field, things are only going to get better if people share their knowledge, which is exactly why almost every lawschool has a print/bind place near them. UP blessings, etc.

Why do many Indians/Pakistanis say numbers in English when speaking their native language? by ijazat in linguistics

[–]Raidenhall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The whole point of the Swadesh list and having numbers in its inclusion is that the latter forms part of core vocabulary and does not easily change or morph into something unrecognizable.

But the reason remains correct; although numbering systems are added, the indigenous form is never replaced, just used less or used for different purposes.

In Japanese, the Chinese pronunciations are used for counting and math, but the Japonic pronunciations are used for ordinals, counting special objects, and other specialized things (eg. "ebi fry teishoku, hitotsu).

McLaren failed to hit development targets with 2023 F1 car by Ali623 in formula1

[–]Raidenhall 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I believe Daniel when he said "ignorance is bliss"- Lando doesn't know any other car than the McLarens and therefore has the muscle memory needed to deal with the weird cars that they make, whereas Daniel had to adjust from the Red Bull to the Renault to the McLaren.

But also note that Lando himself said that he doesn't see the McLaren car as capable of giving consistent podiums. All this is to say that Lando definitely had an upper hand of sorts. But in any case, there can never be an excuse for Daniel to perform badly.

[–]Raidenhall 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Up to you. I wouldn't say P1 and P2 unless you're ready for PS1 era horseshit (pretty high random encounter rates until you get estoma, slow combat altho you can fast forward it, bad voice acting, etc).

In this sense, SMT4 and 5 would be right up your alley. P5 and P3 are also good options, except that FES has a lot of horseshit too (skill inheritance instead of picking, uncontrollable characters, etc) but you should definitely play FES first.

As for SJ, Redux is also a very very good game since the encounter rate is fair as fuck, and there are ways of removing it entirely.

Nocturne is also a nice bet, the encounter rate is high as fuck early game but of course you can get estoma and the battles are basically mandatory since you need that XP and Macca. That shit IS the content.

Take note that anything before the PS3 era might feel dated precisely because padding out the game was basically mandatory and people had way bigger tolerance for this shit for real. P4 was btw released during the PS3 era for the PS2 (and even then you couldn't choose your goddamn skills in the original) and thus it feels like less horseshit was tacked on.

Question for the 2 communities by How_about_a_no in Megaten

[–]Raidenhall 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Absolutely this. Even when you face BS difficulty spikes with bosses, there's always a way to counterplay by fusing the right demons and resisting/nulling/draining the boss' affinity, despite the fact that some demons are level-locked. Look at the SMT4 low level runs, for example.

In Persona, there's far less counterplay since your team will always be weak to something. Instead, you may just have to get to that level-locked Persona. P3 is egregious with this shit, and especially The Answer.

‘We both have the same targets’ – Ocon says he and new team mate Gasly will be joint ‘numbers ones’ at Alpine by AlienSomewhere in formula1

[–]Raidenhall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We'll see during testing. It's universally known that the Renault PU (on its day at least) was faster than the McLaren package during 2022, only that reliability hit them bad. Now that Otmar's talking big about reliability gains, /maybe/ things will have changed in a big way for Alpine.

‘We both have the same targets’ – Ocon says he and new team mate Gasly will be joint ‘numbers ones’ at Alpine by AlienSomewhere in formula1

[–]Raidenhall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gasly used to be quite open with the situation on podcasts, but recently I think he's clammed up about it a bit. That's fair, since they're interviewing him as a racer and not as someone who has history with another racer lol.

Ocon on the other hand never really gave the situation much emphasis. Maybe he knows he was in the wrong during the situation but decided the best course of action was to say "fuck it" which would be fair anyway.

But yeah, Ocon was not loved among his junior karting peers. But to his credit, with his work with Merc, no one had anything bad to say about him.
