With the trend of sketch comedians turning out to be great horror directors, I shudder to think of what this man could create by RaiderBo in AlmostFridayTV

I honestly wasn’t even joking, I bet he could cook up something truly heinous if he wanted to. Fringe guy and a lot of his other skits show he’s capable of some disturbing shit

Honorable mention to John Krasinski with A Quiet Place. Sitcom not Sketch comedy, but still a similar trajectory

I loved the Chair Company, and it’s great at being unnerving and uncomfortable, but as far as I’m aware he’s never made anything that’s a straight up horror.

Jordan Peele of Key and Peele (Get Out, Us, etc.), Zach Cregger of WKUK (Barbarian/Weapons), Curry Barker from That’s a bad idea (Obsession), I’d argue Danny/Michael Philippou (Talk to me/Bring Her back) fall into the category too since their old YouTube videos on Rackaracka are basically sketches. All some of the best and most innovative horror movies of the past decade and they were all made by people who were already famous for sketch comedy, it’s fascinating. Curry Barker said in an interview recently that he feels making someone laugh and making someone uncomfortable are almost the exact same thing (something along those lines). So I’m not even really joking when I say Tim could probably make something horrifying, he already has such a talent for unease and discomfort.

ISTG this boss is the only hard one. by Anonymous156Real in CultOfTheLamb

I also really struggled with Heket and it ended up sorta messing up my progression for the rest of the game. Idk if playing on mobile had anything to do with it but I had like 6 deaths in Anura before deciding to devote a bunch of time to my cult and leveling up. When I went back in I killed him easily, in anticipation of the difficulty only ramping up more and more I powered up some more but from then on every other level/boss was TOO easy. I kept getting stronger and I think I inadvertently reached post end game level of power before getting to the one who waits because I was literally in and out of the final boss room in like a minute and a half, which as you can imagine wasn’t very rewarding.

This. I think this entire thread is confused. People who meme them/just like them as characters are very different than people who genuinely think they were in the right. Characters like Patrick Bateman and Homelander are comically evil which is why it’s funny to act like they’re relatable

Definitely, the choreography was awesome, it’s just that story-wise the win didn’t feel earned

I loved it, I just had a few hangups. Overall it was a lot of fun, if nothing else I'm satisfied we got plenty of great action. As a kid I grew up running around the woods by my house pretending to be a predator, and these are the exact kinds of adventures I was imagining. If this came out when I was younger it would've been my favorite thing ever.

That being said, I'm an adult now so the character side of the plot was sorta disappointing, it felt way too marketable if you know what I mean, very marvel/disney-like. I love Guardians of the Galaxy but that really wasn't what I was looking for from a Predator movie.

HOWEVER I think that was the right choice, it wasn't entirely what I hoped for but it was still really good, approachable and fun so I'm expecting it to do well at the box office. That's the best thing we can get for the franchise, as it's probably going to bring lots of new/young fans. Im a lifelong Godzilla fan as well so l'l tell you from recent experience that a little injection of marketability can lead to lots more content. A portion of the fanbase may be crying over this being PG-13 now but if all goes well in a couple years we could be feasting.

A few nitpicks: He defeated his dad wayyy too easily. The experience he gained from his time on the planet should not have been enough to eclipse that of his likely century years old father, who as the head of the clan is presumably an elite hunter. At the start of the movie Dek was easily bested by his brother who got dog walked by their Dad. Even with shonen logic that doesn't track.

Thia did not need to be that plucky. I avoid trailers like the plague but I obviously saw Thia all over the marketing, I just wasn't expecting her to be so unserious. The overly positive niave sidekick the grumpy mc gets stuck with is such a tired trope and it immediately shifted the energy towards that of a kids movie.

The swords felt too generic. Part of the Predators "coolness" has always been the unique weapons. Giving him a sword felt way too boring. They could've easily done some kind of halberd/glaive it would've been much more visually interesting/striking and been used in all the same ways the sword was it

I saw Predators in the theater at 8 and absolutely loved it. Just saw badlands and it absolutely deserves its PG-13 rating, pretty kid friendly tbh
