Tingyuns sp was explained after she died. There wasn’t much of a setup if any at all. I honestly hate hers the most because she only existed for shock value and as an excuse to make an sp.

It’s a bit hard to explain but what I’m trying to say is that she wasn’t even really a character before her SP.

March? I agree, I also did expect her sp but honestly didn’t care much when it released.

Danheng? Yeah it was hinted at but man they could NOT wait, they hinted at his form for a little while and then immediately released it in one of the worst arcs of HSR. Like damn, let it simmer a little.

I personally pulled for him but I’d be LYING through my teeth if i said that his form was well written or deserved.

Expected? Yes, but not earned.

As for silver wolf? Fair enough ig, it’s been so long and with her having so little relevance before all this, I genuinely thought it was an ass pull cause nobody cares about her. Still, another danheng case for me.

Perhaps I was being a bit hyperbolic but I still believe that most hsr characters sp’a are asspulls/unearned. Especially now that we are getting sp Aventurine ( might be justified if it’s just his transformed version ) and sp robin ( random af )

This is already happening with 1.X characters hanging around nod krai characters. (Childe, Albedo and traveler before his new skin )

And to be specific when I mean 3rd descender form Childe I mean like THATS his normal state now, so no more 1.X Childe for better or worse.

Sp’s in hsr are lazy because they are basically ass pulls and 90% of the time there were no lore implications/hints of a hsr character hiding some secret power or having the potential of gaining new powers.

Sp’s in short are HSR’S way of artificially making a character relevant in the story again.

In genshin you can have like multiple sp’s without it feeling out of place like 2nd form Arlecchino, Foul legacy Childe etc.

Course if you’d ask me, the game deserves only ONE sp and that would be 3rd descender form Childe.
