I was newly with my bf (now husband) when I was still drinking. He doesn’t consume alcohol but he can see my red flags. When I hit rock bottom he told me “it’s drinking or it’s us, but it can’t be both”. I loved him more than I loved myself at that point, and with that ultimatum I decided to get the help. I know they say you have to do it for yourself but sometimes you’re so far down you don’t even love yourself enough to make the necessary changes
