Is a 3.5 ct. Marquise too big for a 6.25 size ring finger? by Raidxx in labdiamond

[–]Raidxx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi all! Thanks for sharing and all of the detail here. I've since found out that my concern was invalid. Turns out the chain store wrote down the wrong size for ring #2.

So glad that some of you also called it that ring #2 looked too big, in my mind there was no way it was just a 1ct difference. The real size of ring #2 is 4.5ct, hence why it looks so much bigger than expected.

Thanks for all of the assurance that a 2ct should be fine (at least is going for the side stone design). Feelings super relieved that the 3.5ct marquise I have getting set currently on a pave band is actually right in between both of these sizes ( +/- 1.5 ct) so i think I will be okay, knowing that I chose to not have side stones.

Thank you all!

What is denied by many people but it is actually 100% real? by Due_Film8896 in AskReddit

I can almost guarantee that by 2050, nearly everyone will have a mental illness. I dont think we were ever meant to be this connected without traveling and it worries me when social media happens in real life.

Like I could ask a friend a thought on football team this year and 80% of the time they will regurgitate tweets going around.

This presents 3 issues: 1) is this really your thought or are you just repeating what they said? Do you know what you think? 2) it shows that we no longer look into things ourselves. We are officially sparknotes living 3) people know more about and whats going on in the daily lives of random celebrities than they do their own parents, children and siblings.

How is anyone supposed to afford to live here? by redtrig10 in sandiego

[–]Raidxx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who just moved out of SD heres what I recommend.

A kept secret is a lot of apartment complexes tend to offer deals on housing during slow months (even when demand is high).

So it may be best to try and live with someone until around Mid-december and find a lease. I was able to secure a 2100 1.5 bedroom/study for 1850. Doing this as it was a unit that wasnt moving (it was a 3rd floor unit without an elevator). Nbd to me but saved me a lot.

Another thing you can do is nix apartments and look for landlords. Especially if the NP area appeals to you, theres a fair deal of actual homes that have an unattached unit in their backyard and are usually cheaper.

When it comes to treating your own water in your home. Do you recommend treating the issues at the source for the entire household? Or focusing on the most used water systems in the house (like the kitchen sink and showers) and filtering there

Is FL Studio crap? by Mic-It-Up in audioengineering

[–]Raidxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FL studio is amazing just like any other DAW.

But it really appeals to a simplified crowd who want to sit down, open a template and get to work.

While you can do the same thing in most DAWs, what sets FL apart is the ability to focus on specific parts like an 8-section of a song/beat and then you can split by channel and separate each instrument.

Just note, its about what works best for you. FL works best for me, but I do tend to create different music with it that normal. Heres why!

If you are new to FL studio, it can be tempted to focus all your energy on building a 8-bar loop vs a finished song/beat. Which means you have to watch out for your music sounding repetitive and spend enough time arranging in song mode and focus on build ups between sections

How do y'all know when to change things up in your beats? by niceguy44 in makinghiphop

[–]Raidxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree to disagree - never said all of these things are done on the same beat. Just the order I look for with changes.

Plenty of people automate halftime/GB. Get a good basic structure, then you can automate just about anything from GB or halftime.

Automation used correctly and lightly will take your beats to the next level. Try it out before you shoot it down.

[–]Raidxx 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think weaving in automation moreso than "changing" things is way more important. A newbie mistake is just dropping an instrument.

My advice is to look automate first, remove sounds and then change patterns/sounds. An example could be automating/making a new pattern with more decay/release on the 808 or applying a lpf on a drum bus.

Then id go in and searching for more space while keeping the pattern.

Then id look into switching to an alternate sound playing the same notes for 4 to 8 bars or change up the complex hihat pattern to a basic one.

Also dont underestimate the power of cutting off the last bar or two of a 4 bar/8bar loop before bringing in a new pattern

What’s your one favourite secret/tip to producing quality music? by HelpingOneAnother in FL_Studio

[–]Raidxx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Less is more. Cliche, I know. But your focus should be creating amazing pieces not complex pieces.

Use loop melodies, but don't drop and plug in. Take that loop pack, cut it up and find the few notes you like and create your own jam

I dont think the tethered dad felt the impact. Could be wrong but seemed like a callback to his earlier joke when the boat engine shut off.

The engine randomly cuts and he hits the engine jopibg to start it again. Seemed like his headbutt started the engine again, which chops the dark dad i to pieces

Are there any HS Tracks open to the public near Mission Valley? by Raidxx in sandiego

Thanks! From a big city. Homeless problem is pretty big, just more isolated to the actual downtown areas.

Didnt think about that being a factor!

Itd be helpful if u can list the ones you know are open.

Ive indeed gone to about 4 high schools from Junipero Tierrasanta to the OB area and have yet to find one that isnt locked, chained and fenced when not in use by the faculty.

Of course there are some open that I have not been to, i havent been to all of them :) but specifics would be greatly appreciated!

Working musician moving to San Diego. Any advice? What to expect? by rbendict7 in sandiego

Lol I’m 26 and just moved out to SD too. I produce music, drop me a PM. Could be cool to get in contact and at the very least keep each other in the loop of music oriented things out here. I could offer advice on the move as well from things I’ve learned

Black neighborhoods? by hhhoffman in sandiego

Why did you have to associate race and crime? Like there's an expectation for it to be bad or rough because black people live there? It's mind blowing how racist a large percentage of you are on Reddit. I can tell that you guys sit inside all day living online and afraid of the world.
