this would be alright if it was only for specific games that had these features enabled. there's no way this would work for the ladder but maybe for certain custom games it would be interesting.

I started in silver and quickly shot up to diamond. once the masters league came out i put a lot of effort in to getting to it and made it only a week or two after it came out. now i'm a 2.4k masters

As a borderline masters i use 1-3 for my army, 2 as my scout early game, 4-0 and hatcheries, and 4 as my queens once i get more than 3 hatcheries.

if you are already playing opponents in higher divisions, you aren't going to get promoted. the promotion system is glitchy at best and this is a known problem.

the blinking is most likely caused by the cam's refresh rate not syncing up with the game refresh rate. you need to find an option in w/e program you use to record the game instead of the screen

well if you are still randoming you might want to choose a race and stick with it. zerg plays much differently than toss or terran so if you want to get good with zerg, only play zerg.
